The cheap Acoustic Ibanez PF15ECE-TBS has the most comfortable neck for me. For just playing, not recording, i prefer it with Elexir strings. All the other acoustics I played with maybe better full sound and resonance are much less combortable to play.
They have some legendary guitars for fingerstyle that are better than the two brands you have mentioned, but they don't mention where this factory is now, I guess it's now in CHina and most products are not made in Japan anymore. They have some good artists like Jon Gomm and Marcin, at least for the modern fingerstyle they are ahead because they are the only one that sells a guitar ready to plug with fishman rare earth blend with mic.
Could they possibly sell the Platinum rejects as a different model that's not in the Platinum Collection? Granted, it would have to be a model that looks like it. Maybe even a model specifically for this purpose. I ask because it doesn't seem very business like to not still try, and sell it at a lower cost. It would be noble to donate it to a school to be sure. That being said, it just seems that most businesses would not be regularly giving away guitars, unless their Platinum reject rate is extremely low. Otherwise, I see them trying to recupe their expenses in creating the guitar, the best way they can.

Please start making acoustic guitars in Japan again. I can’t find an AE900 anywhere and I’ve read bad things about these Chinese guitars.
