Drill of the week: Ladders and combination drill

What does it take to safely deploy modern fire service ladders? It takes training and practice, which is why Wellesbourne fire crew are refreshing ladders and combination drills this week. Just don't look down!

Slight commentary mistake there, is that not a 13.5m LACON ladder they have just pitched?, good drill though 🙂

Hi Brian Easson. Close! Warwickshire do carry 13.5 meter ladders on the 'Type B' appliances. However, the ladder on Wellesbourne's appliance is a 10.5 meter one, built by Magirus I believe. Hope that clarifies for you :)

@@wellesbournefirestation4420 Apologies thank you for the reply, that's a better design of a ladder than the 10.5 I was used to, and much easier and safer to handle and pitch.Just found your U tube site, cracking stay safe all 😀

@@brianeasson889 hi Brian we still use the ‘traditional’ 10.5 metre ladders where I’m from, these look 100x safer and more manoeuvrable don’t they..!

@@wellesbournefirestation4420 You have 10.5s with handling poles? Never seen them on anything other than the 13.5s.
