Good Info! I am not an Electrician nor do I want to be one. But, a guy on a bobcat doing some dirt work at my barn damaged one of the #1 wires running to my barn. The others are okay. Seeing your photo of the underground splice is most rewarding as I thought I was going to have to pull 100' of wire and replace it with new wire. Thanks!!

Havent been focused on learning and progressing in the trade since I became a journeyman in may last year, but here I am , getting back to it. I've been here since day 1, you helped me be a rockstar in my code classes in school

Im not an electrician, but I did stay at a motel6 last night, so I feel qualified to ask this question...
How about packing the junction where the splice was made with silicone? I had to splice a line underground and add a new run coming out of the ground. I used a small 3 way box with 3/4in pvc connections to run the underground wire into making the splice and adding the new line running up inside 3/4in pvc pipe. All connections underground in the box made with 12gauge underground wire and wire nuts. All connections tested, then the entire box was sealed with silicone, and then closed with a cover. Thoughts?

Great question, I would just have a qualified electrician check it out

The hvac is done before the electric
There are far more instances that the electrician messes up the ac then the other way around
I do both electric and ac
Sorry if I took it personally 😅

    1:35 I thought you weren’t supposed to bury a j box in a wall?

And yes they do make a splice that can be permanently left in the wall not saying that I agree with it but it is listed
