Cherokee is where it all began, thank you for letting us peek into Charlie Parker's intuition

This has got to be the best explanation of Cherokee ever done--one that I need to go through more to learn better. I'll be hoping for one on Lush Life now.

Thank you for a really insightful breakdown of this great tune.
Your videos are always so very good, helpful and appreciated because you are a performing musician with practical and real life experience, and share what you have learned. This saves many of us money from trying out different equipment, etc. Thank you.

Excellent explanation of time honored song. Haven’t played it 10 years but with this review I’m going to reintroduce it back into my gigs.

Thanks for your analysis. Here is a version of Cherokee by a great band and notable for great tenor by Joel Frahm and amazing bass from Magali Datzira: th-cam.com/video/DUhdlKvAE50/w-d-xo.html

Time permitting, kindly give a few tips on Grover Washington, Jr.'s take on "Just The Way You Are" by Billy Joel - arrangement, instrumentation etc.
Is there melodic/harmonic romance between Baritone and Alto saxophones in Grover's version?
      Thanks beforehand, Sirvalor.

I really appreciate how you differentiate between Learning and Memorizing. For too long, I relied on Memorizing when I switched from Tenor to Alto and it was detrimental to my playing. Thank you so much for your videos!

Hey Adriene! Was Einstein the one that said “everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler”?
Guess that’s why you used his picture!
Man, incredible lesson! Thanks for keeping things “down to earth”, but, at the same time, pushing us to learn more and more. Keep it up!

Man that altissimo line you played towards the end when you were improvising, and that altissimo Cadenza was awesome man. This video really helped! I've been trying to figure out which modes to use on the bridge, and you've just gone and told me and did a perfect breakdown! I'm also really glad that your videos are monetized now! And the way you just lead into the ads is awesome👌 keep up the great sax content man

lol...LOVE the break (music tag) and graphics used in your videos, [ here @ 03:57]. It took my a few weeks to jar my memory and the music it reminds of, and that is some of the incidental music (score) in the old 'Pink Panther' cartoon episodes. Great stuff :)

Grabbing the book as soon as I get paid. Also greatest "simplistic" jazz song, not a standard though, would be First Moves by Sonny Rollins for me. Literally a banger lol.

I'm trying to find the other songs in the "Indian Suite" also. I'll look up the Rollins tune. 😁

Memorizing is a problem because you can forget it.... I liked what the teacher I checked out said was "real time", and how so many cant play if they arent reading or memorizing. I like the numbering sytem lately been writing out instead of chords, the intervals. Can people if they been around even tell what a song is by the intervals? I imagine it could happen. For instance what is?: 6/m 1/7 4/M 7/m 3/7 • 6/m 1/7 4/M b7/7 7/m 3/7 6/m. I think maybe practiced could see it and know. and if it was played even not so practiced could pick it out. Anyone?

Working on a transcription of the "demonstration" now--- quick Q. In the very beginning, you play a two octave ascending D dominant bebop scale, followed by a lil chromatic D->B then D, C. Right afterwards, what do you play? It sounds like G# G# but I can't quite place how it's being played. Thanks. occurs about 15:10
