My way of paying tribute to the late, great Robbie Shakespeare, just departed yesterday, a veritable Titan of roots bass. It is difficult to say if he was solely responsible for the throbbing bass on this epochal track since he shares the bass credits with Aston 'Family-man' Barrett and Leroy Sibbles on the complete album. Without question, the trio form part of the A-List of Jamaican roots musicians. Family-man and Leroy will surely be paying their own tributes to their fellow great bassist, the titanic Robbie Shakespeare. We celebrate the artists, but without the solid, players of instruments, there will be no roots. They are as vital to the throbbing, never-before-heard-in-history-roots-sound as the names on the album covers. Adieu Bredda Robbie and may Jah Jesus Christus grant you a very good place over yonder. Explanation : this is likely to be a knockoff "remix" album that has nothing to do with the men themselves... More like poor attempts at dubbing the dubs. It has happened too often with JA recordings. You can always spot them when the effect applied sounds 20 years newer than the music!
strange album... they took some original mixes and put a big phaser on whole sound and on all the tracks!!!! why????? without phaser those tracks are much better!
