this is a super awesome concept in rave culture, and I always keep this apart of my everyday life and I absolutely love you for bringing this concept up especially since I am a bit new to the rave scene. amazing vid
I believe I remember hearing the second R around the time after the Rave Act was being tossed around, as raves in the early 2000s were getting bad with the drug use, and so ravers added the second R for being responsible so that there wouldn't be more negative stigma associated with raves. Of course that never happened lol but that's how I perceived how the second r got added having raved since 99.
In my experience the responsibility aspect wasn’t solely related to being a responsible substance user. It was also in respect to responsibility towards the community. I was told it was about looking out for your friends, each other, and the community as a whole. This could mean caring for folks who have taken too much but it also means giving folks water who need it or ensuring that new entrants to the community understand how to be safe.
