  • In this video I reinstate the original equipment engine driven cooling fan complete with viscous coupling and fan cowling on my 1999 BMW Z3 2.8 Roaster E36 in Arctic silver, fitted with the straight 6 (6 cylinder) petrol (gasoline) M52 engine (M52B28) and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
This had previously been deleted at a water pump change, a common modification due to parasitic load. The previous owner supplied the plastic cooling fan and fan cowling with the car, meaning I only needed to purchase the viscous coupling.
I demonstrate the noise levels before and after.
    I bought the following components:
    Mahle Fan from Autodoc CFC 58 000 P / BMV 376 732-111
    BMW Torx Bolts x 3 B07129905536
    BMW Rivet x 2 B17111712963
