- With Bitcoin near $68,000, we attend our first crypto show ever to sell some watches! The Miami Crypto Experience at the James L. Knight Center turned out to be an amazing experience for a crypto friendly watch dealer!
Before we went to the show, we took a few days off to celebrate Crypto Dan's 50th birthday in Arizona. Betty, Carlos and Miss CRM joined in on the fun, as well as some of of our best friends. Now Betty doesn't have to feel so bad for holding the half-century torch by herself!
Even though you'll hear a lot about NFTs (as it pertains to art and the luxury watch industry), billion-dollar coins, and other crazy stuff that's pretty everyday in the crypto space, you'll also get to see what you normally come here for: a crazy family of Cubans hustling to make it in the ultra-competitive grey market. So I’ve been following numerous channels on TH-cam of the same category but you guys are on a class of your own because of how you treat each and every customer regardless of high or low budget. Carlos when you said "everything I need I have, and what you want the most you can't have" your dad. I had to stop what I was doing and hold my tears. My dad passed to Covid almost 8 months ago. He was my hero. He looked like you. Same energy. Same height. I see him through you and charlie bro. We were one. Same relationship. Now I work saving lives, but I couldn't save his.

One issue. That guy was David Feldman. He owns Bareknuckle Boxing and if you listen again he was actually trying to give Carlos a corner pad advertising. That shows pretty big. I’d imagine that’s worth a couple hundred grand. At least.

@@ArizonaMMJ yea the problem is with his approach, carlos doesnt know who that guy is. Even when the guy told him, it doesnt matter, because the guy came to haggle. Immediately carlos got into defence mode because when someone tries to haggle, and they are rich, you feel cheated.
If that guy called him or emailed him, and introduced himself, his company and said "hey we'd like to offer you ad space in return for some discount on watches"..boom. done.
But coming upto him, saying I want to make a deal, bla bla, just comes off like you are trying to finesse the dealer. ITs the wrong way to negotiate, because the person you want to get a deal with, feels like he is getting the bad end of the deal

I love Carlos's approach. He gives 1 price and 1 price only. Makes it so much easier for the consumer. Love businesses that take that approach. Transactions are so much simpler. Everyone thinks businesses are like Amazon, being able to make deals. They forget this is how we take care of our families. Sometimes we try to, but remember that we also get hundreds of messages on a daily basis from customers, are waiting for important info from them, etc., so we can't just put the phone away. Thanks for tip though.

Interesting to compare the atmosphere at this crypto event to a larger one another dealer videoed at just a few months ago -- feels like everyone is much more stingy with their crypto right now, no doubt because of economic concerns while people were riding high five months ago.
