    If I was forced to only choose one Irish whiskey for the rest of my life, this would be the one. The true definition of what an Irish whiskey should be. Blows the regular 12 out of the water. Cheers Erik 🥃

    You actually got me creating a whiskey budget. Since starting watching in March I went from rotating 5-6 random bottles to now having 27 bottles. Yeah I blame you. You're without doubt my favorite whiskeytuber and the only one I watch. Told 3 of my like minded friends to watch you. Thank you for your videos.

    I’m not even an Irish fan but I will always have a bottle of this. Absolutely mind blowing whiskey. Wish more Irish brands would go the cask strength with good age route.

      @@bluegriffin9453 yes my preference is Scotch. But I’ll admit that bad Scotch is much worse then bad Irish or Bourbon.

      I’m doing the same. My regular 12 yr old has opened up for the better with about 2-3 months being opened. Had a dram last week and I was like oh my I need to replenish before I’m out. I’ll keep enjoying the regular until I open the CS. Contemplating not cracking it up quite yet. Cheers 🥃

    15yr redbreast is my everyday for Irish, 12 cask is equally as good but is more of a friday night due to higher abs. Redbreast is the benchmark for rating any other irish whiskeys

    Although the 12 near me (Florida Panhandle) is $65 and the Cask Strength is $85. I passed on the the Cask about 3 months ago and kicked myself for doing so. Last week I finally found another bottle and did not let this one slip by. Initially I can't say I liked it more than the 12 but after letting the neck pour sit and open up it blew me away. Great review...as usual my friend.

    A great whiskey. Out of the 12, 12CS, 15 and 21 this is my favorite. This bottle is at an entirely different level. My biggest decision when having a dram of the CS is whether or not to add some water, it is equally great either way. I’m fortunate like you, about $65 here.

  • @HermannPauline
    @HermannPauline 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The price you get for this is insane, for me that's the cost of a regular 12!
    Here the average price for the 12CS stays around 94€ (111$). Just in some rare occasions (big promos) the price drops to around 70€ (83$). You lucky bastards :)

    I was waiting for you to grab a hold of this one!. For me, this is the best, most unique, yet definitive 'Irish style' whiskey. A beautiful whiskey on those long dark winter nights by the fire with a book in hand. In Ireland its €95, compared to €180 for Midleton very rare. Half the price for twice the quality IMO. Really enjoying the Irish tour!.

  • @scottyblog
    @scottyblog 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It sure is a good Irish. I will say from experience that the older releases of RB 12 Cask were the best ones. After about the ‘18 or ‘19 release they weren’t quite as good. That does not mean you shouldn’t buy the new ones in the new packaging, it’s just what it is. The early 2000s were phenomenal. Those are difficult to find. You can still find as old as the 2012 release in some stores. I highly recommend getting those. The RB 21 is unreal but you must pay that much more. The Cask 12 is the sweet spot for value.

  • @shengyang021185

    Yes! This is by far my favorite irish whiskey to date! In my opinion, THIS is the definitive DNA for true irish whiskey! Granted, I haven't had the 21 or the 27 yet, but either way, this one hits all the right marks and the price and availability blows away almost every other credible whiskey in its range

  • @MegaIrishlegend

    I have this arriving shortly (53€+shipping!) along with Glenfarclas 12 and 105. I was thinking of making a home vatting of those two and then started thinking, how about the CS as a cherry on top? Perhaps 10%? I'll be wiser once I have tasted it of course, but I suspect that would make the whole dram a lot more unique.

    Erik - It seems that they have taken the age statement off the bottle and box. I did not see the 12 year statement on your bottle or box. I have the old bottle and the 12 yr statement is displayed prominently.

      Good eye! Actually the image I used for the thumbnail is an older bottle. On my bottle the age is spelled out “Aged Twelve Years” rather than using the number “12”. This is Batch B2/19.
