Good morning Johnny and everyone! Happy Wednesday!! Thx for sharing these awesome e-scooter/e-bike video compilation, I enjoyed it!! Lol cars should learn not to stop in a bike lane, and even pedestrians should not be walking on bikes lanes too. It’s just that some people don’t really pay attention what’s going on around them. Oh well mistakes happen. @5:00 great to see TheKenContinuum doing a livestream when you ran into him all of a sudden. Anyways, have a great day everyone!! Cheers!
I live and breathe the city of Toronto. I pretty much recognize every location in the video because I bike everywhere. One thing that saddens me is that the roads everywhere in the city are so very damaged because they take a beating from heavy vehicles on a daily basis.
If Toronto opted-in to the e-scooter pilot program (they didn't, which makes them illegal) an e-scooter would need at least one white light on front, one red light on rear and reflective material on sides.
Unfortunately bells are a necessary evil, they're required by law and they're universally recognized and understood when rang that a bike is coming. The alternative would be yelling at everyone as a safety precaution so I prefer the bell. I don't think I overuse it or use it when it's not necessary, only when people create unsafe situations and need to be alerted. Cheers,
I see that it’s pretty dangerous to take the bike in Toronto, the need more proper bike lanes and not so close to the cars. Here in the Netherlands is well organized but then again everyone use the bike. Great videos btw.
Driving, cycling even walking in Toronto is a nightmare lol. I drove downtown a couple of times and will never do it again. Too much traffic, construction and people. You have to have your head on a swivel
If one sticks to the well designed bike lanes in Toronto they won't have many options... and will still have to deal with poorly designed intersections and other obsticles. Ironically I watched this video earlier today: th-cam.com/video/EH-iLOVkFfc/w-d-xo.html
I have often wondered at your calm equanimity when livestreaming your ebike adventures ... there are really a lot of [dumb] inattentive people out there, not to say downright selfish. Kudos for remaining above it all ... I would be spouting profanity nonstop!
If you bike in Toronto regularly, you have to learn to let that stuff roll off your back and be at peace. Just calmly tell people when they're putting themselves or others in danger, and move along. If you let it get to you, your wrinkles and grey hairs will come 10x faster. You will find one or more of these things happening just about every single ride.
Just so you know.. 6:56 in Canada it is not illegal to cross the street if you are further than 30 meters from an intersection or crosswalk... Only USrAel has jaywalking illegal anywhere.. also 8:00 you realize it is illegal to change lanes in an intersection right... as well as being illegal to cross into oncoming traffic in an intersection?? and again at 8:30 you are entering intersection before the light is even green.... 11:30 wtf is a cyclist using a crosswalk for.. learn how to turn in traffic... 13:49 vehicle waiting to turn right with signal on and you proceed anyway..... 14:54 riding through construction zone... Really makes me wonder how many of your mistakes you edit out if this many are able to make it through onto your video.... also when pulling up to your destination you are allowed 30 meters or 3 storefront addresses worth of movement, whichever is greater on the sidewalk.. THAT is IN the Law!! If you are going to criticize others you should really make sure you aren't being a hypocrite... I also notice you don't mind saying something to pedestrians & cyclists but you don't say anything to cars in bike lanes.... I bet I even met you on Danforth... You think those bike lanes are a good idea don't you? Let's put bike lanes down & block with patios... YAY!!
6:56 - It's legal to cross ONLY if you are not impeding traffic, so yes, they were illegally crossing. 13:49 - Through traffic has the right of way As for the rest, just a bunch of eye rolls, you obviously have never ridden in a big city before and have no f-ing clue what you're talking about 🤣
@@JohnnyStrides 6:56 he didn't impede traffic, driver needs to take it easy.. look closely because you must be blind. The horn is a warning device not a whining device... 13:49 the person in front has right of way, he is clearly signaling while stopped as you blow right by him... when you should have given the space for truck to turn... unlike the cyclist in front of you who seems like he was beside the vehicle as it came to a stop to turn.. we are able to cut across lanes to the left to turn, just like they are able to cut across lanes to the right to turn... more than anything it would have been courteous which is in short supply these days... AND For the record I been riding for over 40 years all over Canada with the past 20 years in Toronto as a bike messenger or riding to commute to work in summer gaining extra skills working other jobs.. '95 I was riding in Houston.. I got 93% on young drivers of Canada winter course & used to smooth out bumper to bumper traffic on the highway by going slow enough for the car to start moving ahead of me before I get there... I got "Robocop" sent back to bike training for trying to say my fixed gear didn't have a brake when all the law requires is that the back wheel has to skid, so with "Foot Retention" that IS possible... I get you though man.. we all have bad days.. I still get irritated by sloppy people and i been off the road for the past couple years.. I even irritate myself sometimes... and I know a lot more is edited out than what we get to see.. how do I know? Who wouldn't? Nobody is Perfect... If we appear crazy for minor mishaps then major mishaps appear only minor...
@@bikinglikebecker lol you lost me at your defence of the idiot ILLEGALLY crossing the street at 6:56.. go read what the HTA says on the matter and get back to me 🤣
Cars and pedestrians on the bike lane is very common in toronto, and you know what that's ok, Toronto is a busy and crowded city and sometimes it extends to the bike lane. This video is kinda embarrassing for you because all you're doing whine and complain about these little things. I suggest you take a deep breath and relax cause it looks like you're having a really hard time adjusting to the city life lol. I bike in Toronto too, and I've never seen anyone complain so much, its not like you're the main character on the road bro.
The only thing that's embarrassing here is your idiotic comment. Do you also think it's okay to ride your bike on the sidewalk? I think I already know the answer 🤣🤣🤣
@@JohnnyStrides You're like a baby, whining and crying because people on the streets don't act the same exact way as you. You literally think you're the main character on the road, imagine how stupid do you have to be to think that lol. This is toronto buddy get used to it or you're gonna have a heart attack
cyclists throw a bitch fit anytime they have to use their brakes lol i dont get it! everyone else is using their ability to stop but cyclists want a continuous unimpeded ride LOL
So glad you managed to avoid all those potential collisions. Many pedestrians and cyclists are not so fortunate.

LOL, Oh City Car & Truck rental, prepare for the internet to call you a million times asking "Why are your trucks parked in a bike lane?"
Crikey my anxiety levels rose ten fold. Great video 👍👏
Loved watching these bike and escooter compilations, Johnny!
good morning everyone
Great vid mr strides 😊
i really liked the midtown video stream last night

Wow I can't believe I missed this. Top notch entertainment!
0:38 This guy is a legend 🦾
Now imagine trying to do this on a EUC with one wheel! 🤣
Pedestrian meandering in the dedicated bike lane definitely says it all lol.
Lol this was awesome! Make more of this. I’m sure you have a lot of footage to work with lol.
If Toronto opted-in to the e-scooter pilot program (they didn't, which makes them illegal) an e-scooter would need at least one white light on front, one red light on rear and reflective material on sides.
3:00 they didn't see you because you didn't have a light and didn't hear you because you didn't honk/ring your bell.
Nah they have a side view mirror and have to always check blind spots
I've been waiting for this video lol.
6:55 Yells at a 2000 pound car driving at him and doesn't stop, but the bike coming at him? Priorities man.
Good video, thank you.
13:26 - Where is that please, anyone?
Stay safe, Johnny
I used to want to buy an ebike for commuting. But I gave up because of there is no bike lane in many street in downtown.
You don’t need bike lane
Wow very interesting impressions 😂. Sometimes quite dangerous if you look at it that way 😳.
4:15 cyclist is breaking too many laws to write but it's okay for Johnny
After winter spring and summer will back 😉
Supposedly e scooters are illegal in Toronto. Legal in Ontario but not in Toronto according to the news the other day ...
I would tell the preacher at 4:36 that Jesus wouldn't run a red
I was thinking of buying a bike in Toronto, instead I bought tickets back to BC.
I see a new channel coming on: "Johnny Strides Canadopes"
lol
0:45 😂
Can we get a compilation of fans recognising you Johnny ?
That would be very tiring for me to dig all that footage up unfortunately :(
3:19 Plz don't compete with trucks. My heart skips a beat when ever you encounter mighty machines on the road 🙏
It's always best to keep back and go LEFT around turning vehicles... not the right like those ladies 😲
Johnny! That bell is cringeworthy! I jump every time I hear it! People make mistakes! Yikes! Get rid of the bell! Lol!

Cheers,
I do the samething with my dashcam. None of this surprised me, except for the guy doing bike chin ups.
Looked like chin up man failed to impress the ladies. lol
0:41 guy's riding on the sidewalk and both hands need to be on the handle bars (TO bylaw) yet Johnny says nothing

This type of so called bike infrastructure is perfect if you want to create confusion for bikes and cars. In a nutshell, it sucks!
Escooters are illegal in Toronto.

Pense que solo en Mexico pasaba
1123,,,, hate to brake this to you, a person ON a bike is NOT a pedestrian
cars to not legally have to stop
Not stopping at a flashing crosswalk for anyone waiting to cross makes you a collosal POS...
This is an old video 🤨
It was a compilation of videos.
Did Johnny say they were new videos? No. People need to learn to read the description.
lol what did you expect?
@AliBHG I know to read the description. When I checked, it wasn't there. Stfu
Cyclists breaking all the rules but it's merely 'bizarre."
