I know some are complaining that this is a far cry from his other themes. But they gotta realize the SFIV Cody was on a darker path compared to this version. So of coarse he'd have a more upbeat theme now that he's in a better time in his life.
RandomBlackGamer I'm still sad he had to serve time from mad gears frame up crap & no Jessica! Easily one of the sadest turns for a Capcom hero to ever endure....
I'm loving it. It sounds like he's the new mayor of Metro city which is exactly what he is. His SF4 theme sounded more like he was hungry for power, he was still struggling. Now he's at the top.
I always liked Cody. Beyond being one of the most three dimensional characters in the SF/FF world, he has an amazing mentality. In a world where people are able to throw fireballs, teleport around at will, and stretch their arms out like rubber bands, Cody isn't afraid to pick up a knife or throw a rock if thats what it takes to get the job done. Cody's theme in SFV sounds more cheerful and lighthearted. It seems to express Cody being finally free. No prison clothes, no cuffs, and now he is the mayor. Cody's theme in SFIV sounded more somber and serious, which does seems to fit a man who is just bored and wants to find his next fight while at the same time being restrained by his cuffs and his criminal status. Cody's theme in SFV seems to express that feeling of freedom and no need to worry about feeling restrained anymore, plus the fact that now he is the mayor of metro city. =)
This theme is great. It starts with the part from SFIV, reflecting to his years in jail, but then turning it around to this hip-hop funk, reflecting to the style of music in final fight, and thus to a time before Cody was a jailbird, and with the repetition of the '1... 2... 3... 4..." phrase, it still reflects about how his prison past re-shaped his love for street fighting into a will to serve the people as mayor, like how Hagar turned his wrestling career to serving the people as mayor before Cody. To conclude, Hagar for DLC.
@@fakhiouh9075 I liked how dark and gritty SF4 was. It matched Cody well cause at that time he had nothing to fight for besides himself. The theme was a good presentation of how low Cody had fallen.
