I think all of their live from the vaults are better than the original. I think this one is better cuz u can hear Cal’s bass way more clear, along with the harmonies... and those drums, Ashton in the 1st verse!

The vault versions are always better, they say that they play the vault versions live I think the album sonic is more to put them out there more and chart higher and then when people come to their shows they see the real, heavier, better 5sos and realise how awesome they are

@@thenextchrislawrence I would hardly call the originals "overproduced pop". they're going for a very specific 90s new wave/industrial vibe, which you need all the synths and electronics in the originals for. Being more electronic doesn't make it less authentic or more pop

Pop is not even remotely the only genre to use these two elements, go listen to new wave and industrial, people.
@@legoshi5925 I know what they're going for with the industrial/wave vibe, you can clearly get it in Wildflower most of all. It's just that, idk, I like the original versions but for some reason the vault versions slaps more to me... Personal taste I suppose.

I thought CALM was a good album overall, but I was disappointed that Michael and Ashton didn’t have any solos. Luke and Calum are great singers, but Michael and Ashton should have more solos.
I agree! I've seen fans getting mad at other fans because they don't think people should be disappointed, which is so dumb. People are allowed to have opinions! I know Luke's the lead singer, but I always love getting to hear all the guys outside of the group harmonies. I'd be happy even if their songs are just bonus tracks! Calum's voice has definitely improved though, so it was nice to get at least one solo from him. But I also miss Michael's guitar solos :(

i totally agree with you... i was extremely upset when i found out it was only luke and then calum on wildflower, but i guess they all had to agree to not sing soooo we should be happy for them even though it sucks. this album was THE best album ive ever heard though

1:15 is the most crisp vocal I have ever heard from Luke (not that his usual vocals are bad they are incredible) he is really moving up and down his range more which I LOVE

It's just that this version is like one or two pitch lower than the actual recording that's why it sounds "darker" lol
This whole music industry is cruel and if you wanna get recognition, you can't use bass and drums too much bc then your songs won't be played on the radio (you're gonna be classified as rock music immediately) so that's why

Honestly i miss this sound of them. Gosh those drums, how raw they sound. Also i hope they do a vault version of lover of mine and ghost of you. I hope they do THE WHOLE ALBUM A VAULT VERSION.
There’s this production effect called ‘compression’ that is super common in current music, and on drums it tends to flatten the sounds in order to make it sound as loud as possible. I guess because this is more live it’s mixed differently but I just love the rich acoustics of the drums here. It reminds me of the live drums in 80s songs
i like how this starts off with a creepy intro of notes and then it progresses into official melody. like srsly gna be addicted to this for a good while i prefer this version a lot better. vault version’s awesome

Don't get me wrong i love the original versions as they are but i have a special place for the vault versions. also does anyone else thing the vault versions highlight their vocals even better especially Luke's vocals?? like he has such an amazing voice but i feel like these versions show his true vocal capabilities better than the regular versions of these songs.
