Congratulations on your pregnancy, Mariana!!! 🥳 I've been watching your channel since 2014, when I was in college, and now I'm a doctor! I just wanted to thank you for sharing your journey with us all, especially videos such as these. Rest and self care are productive, too. Please take care of yourself and the baby! So excited to see this new chapter unfold 🤗👏🏻
As someone who is three weeks behind you, omg I related to ALL OF THIS. It was sooo tough for me to get through the first trimester and cut myself some slack, I wish more pregnant people talked about how hard this was. The fatigue and lack of productivity completely caught me off guard since I never heard anyone really talk about it.
I relate 100% to this! I am pregnant with my second baby, and the first trimesterof both pregnancies look like a dream from outside - no nausea, no health issues, but I am sooo tired 24×7, and I feel ashamed for not being more active. Thank you for sharing your experience!
This is an amazing video. So many women go through this, but not as many talk about it. Women giving each other permission and agency to feel as they feel naturally, all wrapped in a support blanket. This is probably one of my favorite videos from you. Best of luck in your pregnancy and delivery and all the wonderful that comes after it 💖💖💖
Unfortunately, women don't champion other women in america, which is why we only get 6-12 weeks off work vs. most other developed countries getting a year PAID
So glad to stumble upon this during my first trimester, so relieved to know it's not just me feeling like a lazy potato. I used to be able to go through a novel per week but now I can barely finish reading a newsletter before I wander off or doze off.
Thank you so much for this video!! ❤ Currently 6-week pregnant, and for sure was not expecting for all the fatigue to kick in so soon! Hearing you share your experience and normalise this has been truly refreshing!
This video came just at the right time. I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and I struggled so much with insomnia during the last few weeks. Working a full-time job with only 3-4 hours of sleep made me feel like I couldn't even get the most basic things in my private life done. Just like you said: getting ready, reading, studying, even working out. At first, I was so disappointed in myself, I still sometimes am, but we have to be more compassionate with ourselves. Thank you so much and all the best for you! Congrats 🧡
Congratulations !! I’m so sorry you felt that low during the first trimester!! I wish you the best of luck with the remaining trimesters and the delivery. I hope you and baby stay healthy and that your mental health gradually is recovering!! 2023 will be better!!
Congratulations! Listen to your body. Growing a human baby and caring for a child is a fulltime job. So everything that can be accomplished extra is great, but this pregnancy and the growing of the baby is something you can only do once and you want to do this well. Everyday feeling you can not accomplish what you want, know you are growing a baby! Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Love your videos!
I just had a baby (my first) on Jan 17 and I relate to this *so much*. My first trimester hit me hard mentally and I was just wiped out all the time. It was tough to be taking on such a massive "project" and be unable to tackle it using the tools and systems I've spent so long cultivating😭 Thank you for making this ❤And congratulations!
The lack of energy during that last trimester pregnancy is unreal! Coupled with being heavier and bulkier, it kept me from accomplishing a lot of the things I wanted to get done. Overall I had to give myself grace for not living up to my own expectations🤷🏽♀️ just get the bare minimum done!
I have been watching you for several years now and have seen you grow so much as a content creator. You really are an inspiration within this world of sugar coated productivity. I am so happy for you and your baby. Sending you all the wellness possible. Congrats!
Congrats on your pregnancy and thank you for making this video. I am currently 6 months along, and in addition, I've had pregnancy rhinitis, which is basically like having a terrible cold throughout your entire pregnancy. I haven't slept for more than 2 hours at a time for the past 5 months. I was always like you-- productive, making lists, and scheduling my day down to the minute. Now I barely have the energy to get dressed and it's killing me. I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mom, I can't imagine having a job and dealing with this fatigue and sinus issues on top of everything else. It'ss nice to now that I'm not alone.
THANK YOU!! This video has resonated with me on soo many levels. I do have an invisible chronic illness so I am fighting with fatigue, brain fog, and focus challenges in a daily basis. I used to be a go-getter, avid learner like you. And like you, it really has been depressing for me not to function like this anymore. I can manage these symptoms with diet, yoga and sleep - to some extend. But flares do happen, and my baseline is just lower. Could you do more videos about adaptive productivity planning? I have a hunch you will have to go down the route with your baby’s too (at least that was my experience with kids). I LOVE YUR VIDEOS! CONGRATULATIONS ❤❤❤
I’m so sorry you have to go through that 😩 chronic illnesses are devastating. I hope you can find the coping mechanisms to deal with this and find some balance throughout your day. I’ll be definitely be taking about this A LOT throughout the year so stay tuned for a lot of mindful productivity content on the way ☺️
Thank you for posting this video. I can relate so much, it’s unbelievable how much the fatigue can worsen the quality of our lives. Just finishing my first trimester and just waiting for the fatigue to be over. I’m also a high achiever, I’ve always done a tone of activities, also reading was my thing, right now same as you Netflix and TH-cam became the only entertainment I can afford energetically… hope it ends soon!
Parabens! I’m so happy you touch this specific point. This point was not frequently talked amount my friends so it was very hard for me. No one, had this extreme fatigue and I had several projects and it was horrible to feel that you couldn’t even accomplish anything. ❤ thank you for sharing
Oh my God, Congratulations!! Gosh, it really has been such a journey! I remember just watching your past youtube videos, and you were still planning on getting married then, now you're gonna have a little you that will hopefully be shown in your future youtube videos:)))
Congrats - I was wondering few days videos ago if you are expecting :) I am curious how will your approach change to the productivity once the little one is out. Our little one is 3 years old, and the first year was quite difficult, especially due to pandemic lockdown and lack of support from family. It will be a new chapter - productivity for busy parents (or prioritise what you have energy for while the baby is sleeping, if you are not sleeping yourself).
Congratulations! Thank you so much for this, I suffered terribly chronic fatigue during my first trimester. Luckily I work in education and I found out I was pregnant on the first day of the 6week holidays. I basically just slept for six weeks, I have no idea how I would have managed working full time on my feet all day. I now suffer with pmdd which makes me suffer severe depression and chronic fatigue at the end of each monthly cycle. It's very debilitating too. I think it's not that well known just how exhausted the first trimester makes you feel, it was definitely my worst of the 3.
Thank you for posting this video..! ❤ It really made me feel better and not alone, I feel exactly like you describe your 1st trimester and it is quite frustrating and depressing at times.
I was super organised before baby and pregnancy. Then came pregnancy, and I had all the ugly symptoms, which, like yourself, made things difficult for me to stay organised. Then, when the baby came, the first year was no way in hell possible for me to stay organised - no matter what I did. My first born is now 2.5, and I've just managed to get something in place, but tbh staying consistent is quite impossible, especially since we don't have child care. We are pregnant with second now, and I'm trying to see what can be delegated to others or outsourced to take some of the pressure off. I feel my organisation has become barely about me but more about the children. How do I make sure their day and feeding are sorted. No one ever prepares you for the admin part of parenting. It takes so much time, and you literally become a PA to little humans. Time management sort changes concept. You need to be very flexible, and you are actually on their clock and not your own. Maybe it's slightly easier for parents who have their children in child care because they don't have to worry about how to entertain or educate them every second of the day. Although they might not have that burden on, they still need to deliver at work and for me who left my career to be a stay home mum, I feel it was so much easier to meet deadline at work and be organised than it is now. Simply because your little human is on a different agenda! I'm still trying to get organised, but I think I've accepted that level of organisation will never be the same as prior to having babies. It's more like some kind of organised chaos. I also believe the workforce should be more considerate of that fact.
I'm sending you love and understanding because I know how bad chronic fatigue feels. I've had it from age 26-41 and really hadn't had any real help from my doctors to solve it. but last year I discovered a vitamin D3 deficiency and cleared that up and felt pretty good compared to how I did feel for many years. Also, iron and B vitamins helped me too. I've never been pregnant through but I do 100% understand your fatigue and ALLof the difficulties that you described. Did your doctor check your vitamin and mineral levels to see if you were deficient in anything, if so were those all normal but you still felt bad?
This video has encouraged me and make me feel more motivated. I’m already feeling fatigued everyday thanks to my ADD and prone to manic episodes. Now I’m on my first trimester and feeling like a failure even more. I was looking up for solutions online. Seeing many people has accomplished lots of things makes me feel ashamed. Why is it so hard to move up my butt around.. But I saw your video and I’d like to thank you for this wonderful video. I’ll try to appreciate small tasks that i’ve done and try to do things little-by-little :)
Thanks for sharing your journey with us! I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and surviving. Looking forward to seeing content on how to balance productivity while taking care of a baby and being sane
Thank you for this video. My kids are now 3 and 5, and I am just starting to get back to my normal productivity levels, it took that many years. Even now if anyone in the family gets sick, chores pile up, sleep is affected and I have to start the cycle of rest, reset, and back to work. I used to get upset about my scattered unplanned days, and changing routines. I was trying hard to find and stick to a pattern. It took years to realize that I must do my best to preserve my energy reserve, prioritize sleep, diet, self-care, (and exercise...still working on this one).
Im currently 11 weeks pregnant and I'm extremely nauseous. I got medication from my doctor, but it doesn't work and makes me even more tired than I already am... I really hope it'll get better soon
Oh my gosh how did I miss this!!! I saw your recent video and im like nooo way so I came to look and 😅 dang I really did miss a video!! I've been watching you since 2015 😮 and I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant 🤰 I can't believe we're both on this journey!! I needed to watch this video. I suffered with fatigue so bad. I work full time as a nurse and I live a very productive life. Smh
Wow I can relate so much to this video! Thank you for posting and for sharing your experience. I am 30 weeks now and I also have a full time job plus side projects and everything you said related so much that I want to be your friend’! 😂
I'm in the same boat now. I normally like to keep busy and productive, but I am barely surviving. I can't even stand for long periods of time without passing out.
This video made me realize that ironically I've been much better off this second pregnancy because after my first child I had issues with such severe depression in and off for years that going through the first trimester this time didn't seem like an unfamiliar feeling except for the daily vomiting of course. So me and my family went back into the depression style of routine and it didn't seem out of the ordinary and I felt supported.
I'm so happy for you 🤗 I've been watching you since I was in college and watched you before marriage. I hope you enjoy all of these phases fully. Cheers
Yes expecting my fourth here and sometimes feel down that I just can’t do much at this point physically (I’m eight months pregnant). I have so many crafts on my mind and projects but…the Lord is teaching me to just slow down and know that if I eat, my kids eat, if I play with them and enjoy them..:that’s a good day. We must remember that we are accomplishing a HUGE “TASK” of bringing a new life into this world. it is good to organized and post to social but so much of that will pass away-it is not eternal. But we as mamas are helping to bring an eternal soul into this world. It’s a big deal.
Thanks for sharing this that helped me to understand that it's totally normal to have low productivity due to fatigue during pregnancy, I'm struggling with this right now.😅
I can relate. I’m 16 weeks with my second at 37 yrs old and i feel everything you describe. It’s depressing. Im so fatigued. Not tired but can’t function tired. I have no help or support from A man either. It’s so hard 🥺.
I feel seen. I have no energy. My eyelids feel heavier and heavier each day. I’ll have to accept this for the time being. We’re gearing up for holiday events and honestly I may need to cancel. There is no way I’ll be able to socialize or keep my eyes open without telling them were pregnant. Which I don’t want to do till we exit the first trimester. ❤
Try having an incompetent cervix, cerclage, needing iron infusions, gestational diabetes and Hyperemesis gravidarum. lol im EXHAUSTED. I had to stop working at 6 months
This is so relatable. I am having my first trimester. I am joining a new job from tomorrow which is work from office. 40-50 hours a week. Don't know I am going to manage. Nauseous and tried all the time.
Thanks for your vulnerability! During my first trimester, I could easily sleep 18-22 hours, at least at the peak of it. 🥴 To anyone else going through this, remember this is just a season ❤
Oh gosh she said the one I been wondering about how do moms deal with being so tired and still manage to work to me it’s a crime to let a pregnant woman work specially anything physical. To me even dealing with my toddler has been too much on my first trimester. I usually feel better later in the day so I do as much house work as I can but working would be the death of me. I think this time I had even worse too because I went through it then had a miscarriage and I screwed up thinking I couldn’t get pregnant right after and I did so I feel like my nutrients have been dumbed and I had to start from a disadvantaged point.
I watched series and documentaries and movies. Also played easy bingy games because I was in a lot of pain and it distracted me more than TV. Also binged on TH-cam but that I do on a regular basis ;D Now that I had my daughter I'm getting back to the grime very slowly but I'll get there and I know you too
There is hard time to get through. I'm pretty sure youre able to deal with them and your experience to go through the hard time is treasure for us! Thanks for sharing

I struggle with those same feelings. I'm 31 weeks pregnant with our first baby.
Did you work first few months of pregnancy? My intuitions tells me it's dangerous to go to job, but also dangerous to be inactive whole time.

Thanks for discussing this. I feel seen. No one seems to care/believe how drastic this symptom can be. I’m looking forward to getting my energy back.
Thank you so much for this video!! ❤ Currently 6-week pregnant, and for sure was not expecting for all the fatigue to kick in so soon! Hearing you share your experience and normalise this has been truly refreshing!

You got this! Take it slow and respect your own boundaries 🙏
Parabéns pelo neném!!! Obrigada por compartilhar sua experiência! Beijos do Brasil para você ❤
Congratulations 🎉!!
Thank you so much ☺️
thank you for this video. ALL the videos online are from moms who don't work and it's awful
Thanks for your vulnerability!
During my first trimester, I could easily sleep 18-22 hours, at least at the peak of it. 🥴
To anyone else going through this, remember this is just a season ❤
It'll pass ❤️
Congratulations 🎊
Amazing video, currently pregnant and managing my TH-cam channel :) it's quite a challenge, watching your video really helps. Thank you

I’m a legal adviser :)

I stopped working at 33 weeks due to standing too long I work at a fast food job. my feet ankles legs and hands were swollen.
I watched series and documentaries and movies. Also played easy bingy games because I was in a lot of pain and it distracted me more than TV. Also binged on TH-cam but that I do on a regular basis ;D Now that I had my daughter I'm getting back to the grime very slowly but I'll get there and I know you too
Thank you for sharing I went through that too
🤍
