Thanks for the review, looks pretty good value. I've been using the 1080p out on the Odin rather than the 4K out from the Odin dock, feels less laggy to me. In fact with a wired controller I think it feels very slightly better than in handheld mode strangely. I don't know if it's just my unit but I've also had some weirdness with the built in controls where the button assignments get confused or stuck on in software. Having the handbrake suddenly stick on when I haven't touched it in Gran Turismo particularly springs to mind. :) Wondering if this was something you've experienced too?
@@RGGeek Thanks for the reply, it could well be me imagining lag differences. The glitches with the built in controls are real though, not the end of the world, just occasional random weirdness in PPSSPP and AetherSX2.
i m upset, its nearly impossible to find now the official dock for the odin, they stop selling this, dont know why, so if you know a link where i can buy one i would be happy
The official dock does appear to be sold out. The link to the alternative dock in my video is in the video description. Maybe check eBay if you really want the official one. Sorry I can’t help more!
@@RGGeek this is what I wanted to know. I've got a different dock that works for the Odin and the lag from pressing buttons is too much, sadly. Makes movement feel mushy and it's no good for fast paced games like F Zero X
They're both great handhelds! The biggest drawback of the Lite is that its video out is only 45 FPS, I believe. Also, better value for money might be the Retroid Pocket 3+ or maybe the new Retroid Pocket Flip.
I have this dock for the switch, awesome that it works for the Odin
Yeah, I also love having it for when friends visit and want to dock their Switch to game at my place... works great! :)
have you tried it by any chance with the odin 2 pro? usb controllers with yuzu any lag/latency? thx
I don’t have the Odin 2 unfortunately. Upgraded straight to an ROG Ally.
What’s that bike game called?
Trials Rising, great game!
What happens if you turn off the screen on the Odin while docked? I wouldn't want to have to have both screens on when docked.
Then it goes to sleep. You can set it so that the screen is off while outputting to the TV, but then you can’t tap the screen.
Is the Odin compatible with the Nintendo switch dock by any chance ?
No, it’s too wide to fit in an official Switch dock unfortunately.
Does this dock provide adequate ventilation to the Odin? I’m worried about the lack of ventilation overheating my Odin Pro.
Yeah, there’s lots of space for all the vents. Overheating isn’t an issue.

Haven’t noticed that, but I also haven’t logged so many hours with an external controller with this dock.

Do you think it would work with the Detroit pocket 4?
Likely... if you order from Amazon and it doesn't work, you can return it. :)

Great video very informative
Fantastic bro❤
What motorcycle game?
Trials Rising 😎
how about latency?
After having this for some time now, latency has bothered me a bit I have to admit. Not sure if it's the dock or the Odin though. :-/

@@Sam-ro6zt Yeah, it's unfortunate. I'll probably just eventually get a ROG Ally. 😋
Have you tried a wired controller? Was that a Bluetooth model in the video?
@@mattdurette497 I haven't tried a wired controller and yes, that was a Bluetooth controller.
Thanks for confirming that it doesn't work with the Lite. I was about to purchase this until I read your description
Sorry I got your hopes up. 😅 But glad you saw the warning in time!
Is it worth getting the Ayn Odin pro or lite?

@@RGGeekI'll check out the Ayn Odin Pro eventually as I love to play all my retro games and Android games on my dedicated device
