I always thought I'd be the first to jump to buy an automated chess computer like this, but, after seeing these in action, I think they are a step backwards from chess computers that simply indicate their moves with lights on the board (such as the Chessnut Air, DGT Centaur, etc.). When this Swap captures, it seems less practical to me to take the time to watch the pieces move than it would to take a lot less time to move them yourself as per the Chessnut Air, DGT Centaur, etc. Sure, it's a thrill to watch them move on their own...but, I imagine that gets old pretty quick if you were to time the same game on this and on the non-automated computers. In other words. I'd prefer to finish a game in 15 minutes on a Chessnut Air, than play the same game in 30 minutes on this Swap.

I think it might be better for your brain, your ability to think about and visualize your opponents moves, to pick up the pieces and move them there yourself.

Swap has a blitz option that enormously speeds up the removal process
