    Nice! I like how she deals with such a complicated mix with a lot of conflicting frequencies. I wish to see more videos/examples/tutorials on that topic because it's not a big deal to mix a simple hip-hop track with less than 5 instruments but it'a a pain in the S to mix something really complicated with a huge number of instruments.

      Exactly. The biggest problem with lots of mixing tutorials is when they are working with pre-eq'd samples and not layers of recorded sounds.

    I mean... For a super muddy dense busy music which is not my cup of tea, Neutron did a pretty good job. If I have to mix that song, I probably cut and create lil bit more more pocket of separation to improve the clarity and the dynamic of the track especially in the low-lowmid range of some tracks. But who knows, maybe the artist prefer a kinda sustain wall of sound that have less dynamics and almost all of the tracks have a low and low mid frequencies to sounds full in solo. Who knows, maybe she's just that kind of person who love their song sounds full both as a song and as individual tracks. I just hope she sent those tracks to mixing and mastering engineer that work in an ideal studio environment, better monitor and better in mixing before the song released. Great video, Izotope :)

Consider hiring me. Who cares. Just enjoy the music. It doesn’t require you to analyze and judge other people’s work. Everybody has their own way of doing stuff. Things that you do may irk someone else, this is her way and you have yours. I’m 200% sure it’ll sound fine in mono, cause it’s just not that serious

    • @LouisLinggandtheBombs
      @LouisLinggandtheBombs 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lupe Brooks How a mix collapses into mono is definately one of the most annoying things about modern music production. We have tools and techniques that make amazing stereo sounds and we have to make them sound great in mono too for those bluetooth speaker things. Sometimes it’s just not possible to do both. I think Kimbra’s amazing and what she did will sound ok but I’m not 200% sure about it! Some of my mixes that are amazing in stereo just don’t work in mono. It happens sometimes.

    • @fairuzhussaini7301
      @fairuzhussaini7301 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes. Learned that in a hard way.
      You tend to get too biased and overprocessing your own song (thinking "I know the song better I know what it needs"), not to mention you'll keep on having "ahh that snare should've been different pitch" and keep changing things when it's actually done perfectly - which will prolong your release and on some cases, the song will be shelved.
      Sometimes all you need is to trust your engineer. If not, find another.
