Wow, an ACTUAL review! Props my man, best F&F video out there. I actually do the same thing with every monitor from 1Up, always have great results with microfiber and foaming glass cleaner. 100% agree, should have been Drift cab with one complete game. Side note bruh, love the AEW tee 👊🏻
Best honest review! First time seeing your channel, great job. Pros and cons are spot on. I’m having fun with the cab, I don’t regret my purchase but if people are on the fence they should wait for a sale. This was the last A1up buy for me I was waiting for a racing cab. They need to do better as far as honesty and improvements going forward.
Love your video and summary. I'll stick to the PC arcade version with a steering wheel. BTW, if you haven't, try Cruisn Blast on Switch with steering wheel. Seemless bliss!
The one major problem, and it’s probably for the better due to space, is the fact that it’s NOT a sit down cabinet like the original games. I’d much rather sit in a chair and use the pedals, wheel, and shifter; rather than standing up. Regarding certain cars not being in, that’s mostly down to licensing agreements expiring, a good example is the first version of Crusin’ Blast, where it was all Lamborghini’s (with a few exceptions being the GTR, and the 370z), but the license with Lamborghini fell through after a year or so, and when the second version came, a lot of different manufacturers got in (Chevy, Hummer just to name two). The only resemblance of a Lambo in that game, is the cop car (a Lamborghini Sesto Elemento).
This may be the most useful Arcade1up review I've seen. Particularly love the assembly tips. Do you know off hand what size drill bit you use for the coin door lights?
Thank you a really appreciate that. I believe I use 5/16 if that’s too small use 3/8. My drill set doesn’t have the bigger bits so I use 5/16 and wiggle it around for a little extra opening.
Although I don’t agree with supporting Arcade1Up by purchasing their falsely advertised products - I found your review; specifically the assembly to be most helpful. I haven’t seen anyone go into depth about the assembly of the parts that could help others avoid mistakes. Really great video ❤
Thank you! I said in my previous video on this cab that people should avoid fomo and not preorder but as I am a content creator I do review things and do my best to help people make informed decisions.
Something I noticed that I didn’t mention is that I think you aren’t using a mic? Your voice volume was a bit low I had to turn my phone up max to listen to the video. And this background music is a touch too loud. Just trying to help out
I picked this up while it was on sale for $400. That’s a much better price for it given the warts. Game looks fun as hell. Wish they hadn’t done the stupid track splitting. I’d have been happier with “one game” that had all of the tracks, and I am sure I’m not alone on that. Oh well, even with the warts, it looks worth the $400 I paid.
So I never purchased this, and I’m not sure if I’m going to, but I fully agree with what you said about the track distribution being split across 2 different games that’s really just 1 game. At least with Big Buck World, they put all 4 games in one, and that was actually true to how the original Big Buck World played out. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have just made the cabinet be F&F Drift and have all 18 tracks on there. It’s not something that makes me angry personally, I just think it’s a weird choice they made. On top of this, I also thought it was odd that they omitted 4 cars (again, not a huge gripe, but it was noticeable). My theory is that maybe there was a dispute between the actual car manufacturers and A1Up, but I can’t say for sure.
Thanks for the review, always good to watch these before buying stuff. How tall are you? I am asking because I am 6',5" and I wonder if that would be too small for me?
Thats the biggest reason everybody should wait to buy 1ups and not preorder, they show off the cab but dont really go into whats inside or even show any live gameplay or a demo. The build itself is almost near perfect id say but i was really let down with the light box marquee being in this thing. Only issue with this one should of been the cheap pedals , hopefully the next racer has the right marquee upgraded pedals and not a butchered version of the titles because they're close to putting out a really good racer. Aew all the way
Great honest and fair review man! Yeah Arcade1up should have let people know in the beginning that you are only getting one game and not two. Very misleading and if I did pre-order it, I would have cancelled after finding out I wasn't getting what I was paying for. lol So glad I got the Ridge Racer last year for $299! Besides that I have more nostalgia for RR and zero for F&F, minus the movies of course.
@@ToxcynTV Yeah it is about having fun in the end. And yeah agree that full price is a bit much for the F&F cabinet. lol Hey I got a quick favor to ask you. Could you measure the shift plate in length and width? I'm going to make my own for my PC modded Ridge Racer and need to know the specs. I'm going to pick up a used NFL Blitz joystick as I heard that is what they used for the F&F and I'm going to put magnets on the shifter to keep it in the different gears. Thanks man!
@@atranfanatic do you mean the cutout from the outside or the whole piece? I’d have to take the control deck off and open it up but from the outside the cutout is 2 inches high by 1 and 3/4 across

What makes this review good is the explanation and tips for putting it together. This was needed. Maybe this is your edge for future reviews?
Thank you, Travis. I appreciate the feedback. I’ll def keep that in mind for the next one.
I feel you're pain about the dust under the screen I don't think I've gotten one without that. great review man 15:51

Lmao thanks, Dan
Love this review my guy! The white pedal cord goes under the cab tho. Then it’s not noticed at all. 👊🏼
Thanks, brother! I’m glad yours is working now so I can check yours out!

Great video!! 👍🏻
Awesome review.
You are using a pacman cocktail as a PC desk? lol Good work!
Lmao yes because I replaced it with the Ms pac-man 40th anniversary. Thank you!
All that money and you still don't get a single complete game, just two demos.

I want two of these and I live alone 😂😂😂
Nice review, how tall are you and did you get tired standing, I wonder if I would need a riser for it or just use a stool.
I’m 5’9 and it’s the perfect height for me. I don’t have to slouch

RR has more value although F&F is a great looking machine and fun, not worth the full retail price.
