  • Our Artist to Artist talks invite musicians to participate in free, unmoderated discussions, discovering the things that draw them together along the way. The latest entry in the series features Claudia Molitor and David Vélez in conversation.
Claudia Molitor is a composer and artist whose work hovers between music and sound art, extending across contemporary art practices, such as video and installation art. Exploring the role listening can play in the world as well as embracing collaboration as compositional practice is central to much of her practice. David Vélez is a sound artist and researcher whose interdisciplinary work incorporates technologies from bioacoustics, geoacoustics, ethnography and food anthropology to advance ecological and socially engaged projects. David's work is centered on musical synthesis, electroacoustic transduction and field recording, focusing on underground and subaquatic sounds.
Watch the artists discuss their respective approaches to ecological sonic practice in this video.
The Artist to Artist talk series is produced by hcmf// in partnership with SPARC at City University London.
