  • Worlds first bikepacking bike with all the braze-ons that quickly folds in 30 seconds for easy transport to the trailhead. It’s built for tire clearance to 2.4″ and has geometry tweaks for better loaded off-road handling. The All-Packa is the best Bike Friday for expeditions far beyond the pavement. Custom built to your size and color choice in Oregon USA.
    The new Bike Friday All-Packa is a more capable bikepacking bike in more travel situations than previously imagined possible! Yes, its easier to fly, bus, throw in the back of an adventure van, on top of a pack-raft, etc. than any other bikepacking rig available. It’s also a fully capable dirt road rambler, ready for an unpaved expedition to the farthest corners of the world. No, this isn’t the bike for shredding the most technical trails - instead we designed the All-Packa for the joys of riding our local logging roads and flowy single-track.

    I live in Italy and bought online a NWT more than 15 years ago directly from BF and it still rides great.
    I have quite a few other bikes( Fargo, El Mariachi, 1991 Rockhopper and a custom racing bike) but if I should only keep one I no doubt keep the NWT.
    Now the All Packa is the first on my wish list.
    Great job Bike Friday.

    I'd worry about excessive frame movement and vibration at the extremeties causing breaks and cracking tho

    I want one!!!!!!!!! it's so expensive here in our country! I've owned almost all types of commercial bikes (BMX, hybrid, roadbikes, cyclocross, 650b MTB, 29 MTB, Djumper, cruisers, 26 MTB, full suspension MTB, various folding bikes, etc) but I know for sure ALL PACKA is my dream bike!

    I might have to start saving for one, gives me more confidence since designer Willie is my height! I love folding bikes and there really is nothing like this - so unique. Only thing I would change is probably some modernized branding someday but I guess that can be customized :)

    Has there been any consideration of an up-spec Pinion & Gates version? Losing the greasy chain, fragile deraileur, and cassette seems like it would be worthwhile on folders meant for quick and convenient travel.

    • @bikefriday
      @bikefriday  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Pinion hubs are pretty outstanding if you can afford the cost. That's the most upscale bottom bracket around. There are lots of options at a much lower price point.

      Pinion with Veer Spilt Belt will be nice too. No need to cut the frame in half. Maybe add something to hold the handlebar after unfolding like Airnimal Joey Connector Kit on the handlebar stem instead of on the main frame.

    Just bought one. I’ll likely go with a hot waxed chain to limit the chain grease when I travel. Would have preferred belt drive. Pinion would be awesome.

    its nice but much better if they fold the way like tern or dahon bikes folds.

  • @luvinfunvan

    Looks like such a great bike, very tempting N+. I am a bit concerned about the relatively small integrated clamp at the steering column. Given reports of road oriented versions of this bike having had shifts in certain circumstances (bar turns independent of the wheel). Circumstances I imagine would be much more common in an off-road version. Has the design been improved to prevent this type of scenario?

  • @Gnorfgnegeff

    Doesnt seem to have any system to lock the handlebar and front part into place, like the packit has. So it is just a wobbly mess to carry around. So far I havent seen any footage that this thing can be rolled when folded.

  • @tallonhunter3663

    Any thoughts of making a Titanium version? I love my NWT. I fly 30k miles a month with mine. Set it up with a straight, trimmed, carbon bar, and SRAM AXS 1x drivetrain. 52x11-36 and I go anywhere. I use 2 chains. They get cleaned in a ultrasonic tank and then dipped in crockpot full of wax. I swap the chains every 400 or so miles. Totally clean. All my clothes are in packing cubes that pad up the hard side Samsonite. I run out of weight capacity before volume. Hence the desire for titanium.

    • @bikefriday
      @bikefriday  ปีที่แล้ว

      No current design for Titanium, but..anything is possible at Bike Friday!

    I'm 6 foot tall and I've got a diamond Llama. I'm a bikepacker more than a bitumen rider. Would switching to this provide me better off road handling or I'm too tall to get much benefit compared to the diamond llama ?

    • @bikefriday
      @bikefriday  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good question. The trail of the bike is a bit different than on the Diamond Llama. The fatter tires will definitely make a difference. I'd say overall, yes, you would have a better off road experience on the All-Packa than a Diamond Llama.

    I have yet to see BF models that will give Brompton a good run. Because of this, I prefer Brompton each and every time. Don't get me wrong, I have two BFs too, World Tourist and Pocket Rocket. But I am always hesitent to carry it in my trunk due to hassel of disassembly/reassembly.

    • @bikefriday
      @bikefriday  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. There's always an engineering tradeoff. Bromptons have their use cases as sd Bike Fridays. We optimize for ride quality first, then ease of folding.

    • @FS-bg2kk
      @FS-bg2kk ปีที่แล้ว

      I hate taking any folding bikes onto a crowded bus or train, so fast or compact folding isn't a priority. Gearing and gear changing on the Bromptons are just not convincing enough. I too have a Brompton and it just sits on the shelf, haha
