About Mike & Bryan (Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, together known as "Bryke"), the original creators of _Avatar: The Last Airbender_ , leaving the Netflix project: There are things we know for certain, and things which are rumours. What we know for certain, is that after Mike & Bryan left the Netflix production, they went off to found Avatar Studios, which is in charge of producing all sorts of new material in the _Avatar_ universe, including at the very least 3 animated movies, and apparently also a new animated series although the only thing we got on that last one seems to be a remark by a Nickelodeon Exec. What we also know for certain, is that in the last year - 1.5 years or so, Netflix and Avatar Studios have actually communicated, cooperated and collaborated quite closely. A rumour -- and I want to add once more for emphasis: this is just a rumour, nothing whatsoever at all more; we have precisely 0 hard evidence for any of what I'm writing after this -- is that the background behind the "creative differences" that led Mike & Bryan to leave the Netflix show, was that it was (again: *_allegedly_* ) actually Netflix who wanted to stick as close to the Source Material as possible, whereas Bryke (just once more for the road: *_allegedly_* ) wanted to do something different with it. This might seem counterintuitive at first glance, but for us longer-time fans who follow these things, Bryke are actually somewhat (in)famous for never wanting to do the same thing twice. One area where this can be seen is with the sequel series to _Avatar: The Last Airbender_ , _The Legend of Korra_ . Not to spoil anything, but TLoK is so different from, and in more than a few areas even being the diametric opposite of, A:TLA, that TLoK is basically a _deconstruction_ of A:TLA. Bryke basically said: "We will not be imprisoned by this giant of a series we ourselves created, and in fact we will slay this giant (while still showing our love and respect for it) and dismantle it piece by piece." So, even though it is very extremely much *_JUST a rumour_* (this cannot, and will not, be repeated often enough), it does kinda totally track that Bryke would be the ones who would want to "reimagine" A:TLA given the opportunity to do so with a Live-Action adaptation. So yeah, that's what we know for certain, and what wild speculation (taken with a massive grain of salt, of course; after all, that is the nature of speculation) is flowing around.
Thanks for that! Gives us a bit of insight as least! And yeah you just never know with rumours. Hopefully they clear it up in the future. I just hope the show is the same as the animated. I don’t know why so many studios/creatives try to change things that us fans just want the same but live action! I’ve been up and down wanting an ACCURATE Resident Evil movie! Lol they just always seem to want to make changes to things. Thanks for the info :))
And you guys just finished season 1 at this point lol. Imagine if you finished the whole series, you would’ve been in tears. The ost is a masterpiece just like this show.
Hands down best reaction, they stared the show recently and as adults. This show is so well written , timeless and relatable. Can’t wait for the live action.
La emoción en sus ojos me hacen darme cuenta de lo emocionado y lo que significa Avatar para ese chico así como todos los que estamos esperando que no lo arruinen esta vez jaja.
I have to say, if you guys are only just starting season 2 and are already loving avatar, then you are in for a wild ride, because the second half of season 2 and season 3, in especially are Amazing.
hope you guys will be reacting! cant wait to see the live action, im so hype! Don't feel bad about getting emotional Liam. As a 29 yr old man, I got emotional myself. I remember watching the animated series when it came out as a kid, and this is giving me all the nostalgia
I heard a rumor that they left because the creators wanted to make the Netflix series a little different from the animation, and change a few things. But Netflix wanted to make it as much of a homage to the original as possible, and that's where the disagreement stemmed from
You guys are so freaking adorable. I can’t wait to watch it with you! I’m behind on watching you watch the animated series so I don’t know if you’re going to watch the movie that does not exist in Ba Sing Se or not. But you definitely should…before the Netflix series. It will make you appreciate what’s to come even more. (Not that you don’t look both pumped up and emotional - like most of us 😁 - already.)
If you do the reaction to the movie. It's so insanely bad it's insane you would not even believe it. A dumbster fire of a movie. This looks verry promising. I'm cautiously optimistic about this (and secretly hyped) haha.
Great trailer, between the images and music it gave me chills. And great if you finish the animated show b4 the LA but no worries as the LA will only cover Book one which you've already seen. And to my knowledge, the OG creators have never specifically explained why they left the project. I speculate they didn't completely agree with some of the changes being made. As a live action adaption, it is clear that some elements will be added, some eliminated, and others condensed. Still what I've seen looks very promising.
Right b4 "Liam" said that there was a new member of the team and to come follow it in their Avatar journey... I figured out that the new member couldn't be none other than a plush stuffed toy of "Appa" just cuz of the "thumbnail image", and then indeed I was right as "Steph" showed it.
If you guys are truly going to torture yourselves and watch the movie that we really shouldn't speak of anymore since this Netflix show is gonna be it! Then I suggest you watch it right now before season 2 because it's not worth it watching it afterwards when the Netflix show comes out or after the Finale of Book 3. (The movie only covers book 1 anyway) so you can do a direct comparison and forget about it afterwards.
@@Reactsandgames I suggest watching the Netflix live action after finishing the show and then getting into Legend of Korra. That show is important to understand more about the Avatar universe.
nah i feel like the movie as a standalone is okay... but after watching the animated series, the movie is... less than ideal LOL did you guys catch bumi in the latter part of the trailer?? so excited
The series doesn't look perfect. The elements look VERY cgi and etc. But honestly? I don't care. It looks faithful enough, cool enough, and I can suspend my critical eye a bit and just enjoy it. After the blasphemy that was that movie I'm just so psyched to get a much better version lol
