Know this was posted four years ago, but I just wanted to say this is the best guitar tutorial of any song I’ve found on TH-cam. Keep doing you man, incredible.
My wife said for me to learn this, we have followed Edith, love her Music, love her stories this song is very very special. Thank You for your effort thank You again for teaching us in such away that any one can understand. that is a gift my friend, again I Thank You. I have played over 50 years here I go again learning another one.lol
+Eddie T Hey thanks so much for the positive response. Yes, I teach 25 private lessons per week, and my students have been amazing to me. So glad you're enjoying this lesson, there are many more on the way. Enjoy your practice! -Rob
I gotta say, these lessons are much like the stuff my own guitar teacher prepares for me, text lyrics, chords over text. Just can't rattle your ears with questions. Great, quality stuff
Hey thanks so much for the encouragement. So glad these lessons are serving as a good supplemental resource to what your guitar instructor is providing. Looks like your in good hands!
286superfly Thanks for saying so, glad you are enjoying my work thus far. I'll be posting some more lessons here, and also exclusive lessons for my subscribers at freephillyguitarlessons.com, thats my new blog that I hope will take off along with this channel. Thanks again for reaching out. -Rob
Thank man! I really enjoyed this tutorial. Compared to others, I like how you go through each step like showing the tabs and how the notes play through the verses. Very well done and easy to understand. Keep it up dude 😊👍🏼
what a great tutorial. this is just awesome!!!! really can't thank you enough for this great tutorial with fingerpicking and strumming sounds very romantic and nice!!!!
I could only give you one thumbs up, so had to write. Thank you for a wonderful rendition and such clear communication of not only the essence of the song, but how to play it for an intermediate player like me. Best wishes!
I have been watching a lot of your videos and you have an amazing talent , thank you for share it and for the work it takes to do it.PD: beautiful song and keep going with this , you are a great teacher haha.
Hey Benjamin, thanks for the positive feedback. I'm so glad that you're enjoying my lessons. Please keep checking in, sharing these videos, and keep me updated with your progress. Many more lessons are on the way!
Hold me close and hold me fast The magic spell you cast This is La vie en rose When you kiss me heaven sighs And though I close my eyes I see La vie en rose When you press me to your heart I'm in a world apart A world where roses bloom And when you speak...angels sing from above Everyday words seems...to turn into love songs Give your heart and soul to me And life will always be La vie en rose
Perfect tutorial, love it. However i really like to strum everything instead of using hybrid picking in harmonic parts, putting emphasis on B and E string and letting them resonate. It gives a "country" feeling that I love. Anyway thanks a lot man! Greetings from Italy
Marius Borenstein Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. This will be on my set list for a long time, its always a crowd pleaser. Thanks for you comment, and have a great week of progress. -Rob
This worked out great for me! I just started learning guitar and this was fairly easy for me to learn thanks to your lesson! I also wanted to ask how to do the last part of your version where you do a little riff in the demonstration part of the video, thanks!
Quang Le My pleasure, thanks for taking a look and for leaving a friendly comment, it means a lot. Many more lessons are on the way, here and on my blog freephillyguitarlessons.com
BB KOOL My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it. This is definitely different than Louis' version, but a very guitar friendly version. Thanks a ton for watching. -Rob
excellent videos, helping me to get some jazz standards down for my sets. Can you do Cry Me a River and They Can't take that away from me? Have been trying to find a good tab for them for ages and these are very intuitive
Hey Swift, you're really great at breaking things down. I was hoping one day you'd talk about the theory that goes into making a guitar solo. You've done videos before that dealt with scales but what I'm really thinking about, and really what I've always wondered, is how do you choose which notes to hit? I'm not talking about jazz and expression, more about the purely technical execution/decision making. For example: Someone is leading me in for a solo in Am, I know the Am scale and the chords that compliment the key--now what? When you know all the tools, do you have to sit down and compose licks that you can incorporate into future solos--and if not, and it's just something you improvise, what mental process do you go through that picks one string and a fret over another in the same scale? I guess in summary, what is the technical mindset of a guy people a solo?
+Gabbie Catral Hey thanks for the positive feedback, I'll look forward to seeing that video! Make sure to post it at facebook.com/phillyguitarlessons. Thanks again!

Capo on 2. The chords will be higher, your voice lower.

Sorry if I'm mistaken, I'm new to playing, but isn't the capo already on 2? Which fret should I capo to pla the song with a lower voice?
