As soon as I get my market up, I trade all iron for wood and all coal for stone, then 500 gold for wood and stone. That will set me upp for 3 town halls and two barracks, then I trade another 500 gold for wood so I can get the academy. That's why I need an iron mine right away and I want to be quick on coal and iron so I can afford the harness in the blacksmith and also the stone excavation upgrades a bit quicker :)
