Actually, panantukan was conceptualize to counter bigger opponents since Filipinos are smaller compared to other races. Thus the sneaky attacks and the close combat style in this art. That's why it's called dirty fighting and is very effective in street fights.

Almost all martial systems of the world share the "dirty fighting" element, and the use of the term to designate the Filipino empty hand striking system has much to do with the influence of Western Boxing upon the system, too. It is Western Boxing, after all, which largely coined the terms "clean" and "dirty" fighting in the first place, and it has been such a big influence in the empty hand aspects of the Filipino Martial Arts, ever since it was first encountered and incorporated into the system....The Filinos just brought back everything that is banned therein, too, and trained and utised in their drills, combinations etc... Extremely effective.

I loved this video. I am an Okinawan Goju Ryu practitioner who cross trains in Panatukan and 52 Blocks. I saw many similarities between what you demonstrated and what I have trained.
I will grab a partner and play with the techniques you have presented. You have a new subscriber. 🥋👊🏽

Very good vidéo 🕵️ What do U think about M-T Boran & chaya ?? Because I thought it was the only way to fight more than few secondes against your impressive style. 🎊🎉 I mean trying to keep the distance with front arm, find an angle you like more, so move, terminate the moving by lowkick destruction ' in same time keeping the gap to climb the space, follow through by 2 / 3... Break hard bases and keep the distance one arm tensed without staying at the same position ??! Your art is wonderful, very efficiency & you are Very instructive. Bravo 🤙

Nice stuff, really enjoyed it. One thing I like to do instead of or in conjunction with the catch is to knock. Basically to use the front knuckles to knock the front on fist. Very easy to pull off with an aggressive opponent and that destruction gives you that moment of hesitation to close the gap.

Also I think you are probably looking at all the follow ups, as part of the entries. They are not!
Basically youve got the supported elbow frame and inner and outer trap blocking for the lead hand. If you think that is a lot.....try learning a blocking set, striking set, kicking set, short form, long form, a form 1 and 13 situational techniques to get a stripe on a white belt.

      The major aspect:
The shown stuff is an OFFER. It's about everybody on his own to find out what he likes, what fits to them and all their yet existing repertoire.
Demonstrations are about showing what is POSSIBLE. It's not about doing all the shown stuff in those situations copied 1 on 1.
And in fact no fight (or at least the distance in a fight) lasts long enough to do aaaaaall the follow ups. They are to find out what can be done and to build up a flow. Not more, not less. And of course you can also repeat 3 techniques again and again.
