    What a cute little girl she was. I can't help but project myself into her experience. She stayed incredibly sharp into her old age & i was fascinated by her story & Titanic.

    Thank you! - That was such a great interview with Eva Hart. She has always been so consistent with her telling of the Titanic 🕋 story, wish she could have seen James Cameron's "Titanic" it would have been nice to hear what she thought of the movie and how accurate it was...

    I'm glad to hear she thought 'A Night To Remember' was a good portrayal of the disaster. I wonder what she would have thought of 'Titanic'. She passed away only a year before it was released.

      She would have hated it as it mixed a lot of fiction with real facts

    • @carlgharis7948

      that movie was all so popular when I was in school. Granted after 2012 they started to run documentaries on TV and the internet 100 years on. The more I see all these the more I get educated that the underlying plot is accurate but the general polt that's all Hollywood. Yes I knew Jack and Ross were fictional characters back in the 90s of course. However the more of these type of informative content I see the more I realize the general movie plot was loosely put together. And I think Eva Hart would say well let's nit pick at this and sort fact vrs fiction. I think she'd be a self appointed fact checker viewing the movie.

      @@maxipazz8214 hated it. No I think she'd be a self appointed fact checker. If it were a court room for example she'd be disqualified from jury service because they'd say well to much interest however I think she'd by initially a mutual observer until her turn to speak and say.. well listen to what I have to say.. I'm going to analyze and put my input in because I have that right

    Dr. Ballard regretted later that he didn't claim ownership of the Titanic after he found it, especially after it started being pillaged : )

    • @tur74d56
      @tur74d56 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad he didn’t , we wouldn’t of got to see the treasures around the world today , Mr Ballard would of kept it for himself

    • @bobbyheenan4061
      @bobbyheenan4061 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How would he "claim ownership" of it? Wouldn't it still be the property of whatever the White Star Line is now? Or perhaps the insurance companies that paid out claims? Some company has got to have ownership rights of the wreck. I suppose he could've tried keeping the location secret, but that'd probably be impossible.

  • @carlgharis7948

    also something else that came from the disaster. Improvements in wireless. Back in 1912 it had only been around for a few years 2 things to remember 1) only about 30% of ships even had a wireless radio and 2) 1/2 of that 30% the wireless was manned 24 hours. They only had 1 operator so if he was asleep or at lunch nobody was working. As so rules were enacted to say your ship needs to A) get a wireless radio if don't already have one and B ) it has to be operated 24/7. I mean if for example your house is on fire at midnight and you call 911 or 999 or whatever the emergency number is in your country you expect somebody to answer and send the fire department. You DON'T expect a recording saying we are closed we are open between 7am to 10pm Monday/Saturday and 9am to 8pm on Sunday.. please call back during thoes hours.it's not that you're calling a hardware store.. And within about a year or so it went from 30% of ships having a wireless radio to over 95% of ships having a wireless radio and almost all of them staffed 24/7. So Titanic brought to the attention these rules need to be enacted also. It's unfortunate it took a disaster as such in order for that to happen

      All safety regulations are written in the blood of those that died for the lack of them. I didn't know this about the wireless radio in regards to Titanic.
