That’s a great video. I find that better than the 5 fillet method. Like you said in the intro, you get a good amount of meat off of a pike like that and the meat is delicious!

I prefer perch (european perch) or tench to eat. BUT every so often I also take a pike to eat

That's exactly how I've been doing it for years...and yes... they're delicious!

Good instruction. I like to use my electric on Pike. The ribs dull the blade. Although, maybe I should learn how to correctly sharpen my knife 😀. Look forward to more vids,. They get me through the winter!

I find that there are alot of videos about cleaning and removing the "Y" bones. Different stroks for different folks, just have to use the one you are most comfortable with. It is an extremely good video tho.

Why pull that whole piece with the bones out to the tail? Those bones end at the same point as the rib cage. That tail section is largest boneless section on the fish.

Hi Jeff. Not my best camera work, but they way Kyle was cleaning, there were still bones in that last section. May depend on the total size of the fish? There seems to be as many ways to clean a Pike as there is to catch them. Thanks for watching.

What’s with that nasty slime and board? I’d rather put up whit the y bone than the slime and that filthy board!

@@braddorman1759maybe you could pickle the y bone sections 😅 I used to do that when I was younger and salt wasn't a problem for me.
