Mental illness is a result of sin…. I agree… sometimes the sin is against the person who is experiencing the mental illness of trauma…. Mental diseases do have to be solved spiritually… “search the catalogue of sin and ask for supernatural help” I agree. I am a person who has suffered a psychosis at one point in my life… I am now, after 20 years passed that experience, exploring my psychological journey through that horrific experience by retrieving my doctors notes from the psychiatric hospital I was in…. Hi Rabbi Lapin, thanks for the great videos I listen almost daily to your videos. I am an exploration geologist, although I am more in the metallic minerals space. The notion is generally speaking, oil forms from kerogen which is formed from various organic products, but generally an environment rich in algae. The carbon within the organic material accumulates in carbonaceous sediments which then become buried and undergo diagenesis. Heat and pressure then can cause a process called catagenesis whereby the carbon compounds are chemically changed to hydrocarbons of various types. The next stage is migration. As the oil and gas is less dense than the surrounding rock, it can migrate, if there is a conduit for this. The oil and gas will move upward through the stratigraphy until such a point where it can no longer move, this is a seal. And as long as the host rock is porous enough it can form a reservoir. The reservoir can be a significant distance from the source rock. And indeed source rocks continue to produce oil. It's the general philosophy of oil exploration that it is traps and seals which are the thing to look for, source rocks are in abundance.

A timely reminder. I am happily married for 12 years and have three children. I had to fight hard against scarcity/fear/shame, and by faith marry and enter into family.... I am still learning how to connect and have new thoughts and feelings of abundance with my family versus survival/ scarcity.... I see my faith must grow more. I did learn scarcity from my upbringing... throwing away a piece of paper can feel like a sin...its exhausting. Oh to be free and allow abundance and love to grow. Much thanks.

Rabbi, your books 'Thou Shall Prosper' and '40 Secrets From The Bible', has truly really been a revelation to me. Thanks for sharing the Jewish perspective on the subject of money and faith. I had sabotaged myself subconsciously, thinking that this was a practical way of life and also effects of karma. I vacillate between belief and disbelief. But listening to you I suppose believing in God does yield rich dividends.
I have enjoyed this teaching. I have my my 3x5 cards and I will share them with my wife too. We are going to succeed in making our finances healthy again.

Other than that, I keep it covered with a cream-colored blanket. I can’t handle that big black mass soaking up so much light. It distracts me. Nonetheless, carrying on into the video now.
I didn't realize these spiritual schematic sabotage. I must admit the spirit of scarcity has been part of my life to the extent I wont eat for example for I wont have enough latter! My father would ask me, do we sit and have lunch or we by meat and share with the rest at home? I have never seen that change but my mother was different. We would sit and have lunch and always had something the take home.

Rabbi! I need you! You mention the index card thing. I have difficulty throwing things away because I feel sentimental about literally everything. It’s not a feeling of lack that makes me hold onto things. I suspect that this sort of sentimentalism is just another more nuanced schematic and I need you’re help understanding what that is. Thank you!
Maybe try to focus on items that you DON’t feel sentimental about. Maybe a single old sock with a hole in it. Hold it up and think about why exactly a person would feel sentimental about it, or why they wouldn’t. Then move on to other things. (The Life Saving Magic of Tidying Up, this book saved my mental state).
Regarding sexual confusion. I was taught to accept my body as God made me. However, rarely does the discussion include males with Klinefelter's syndrome. Males born with one or more extra X (female) chromosomes have assorted physical traits. Some are serious enough to drastically affect their entire lives. I wish awareness of healthy hormone structure was emphasized in our general media. Years ago, ad campaigns to stop smoking included advanced cancer patients. It was gross and scared us to quit! The Klinefelter person I know, is the poster man of pity and morbid obesity.
What about the famines in the Bible? Abraham experienced famine and many others throughout the generations. People are being stopped growing food now and they forecast famine in the near future

Years ago, ad campaigns to stop smoking included advanced cancer patients. It was gross and scared us to quit! The Klinefelter person I know, is the poster man of pity and morbid obesity.
What about the famines in the Bible? Abraham experienced famine and many others throughout the generations. People are being stopped growing food now and they forecast famine in the near future
