33:00 key message about criminality! Having lived many years in Brazil, people always wondered why during the lifetime of the last two generations criminality rose so much it made some cities almost unlivable. We always thought its just due to corruption that destroyed the public school system. I knew that is only a minor reason, but didn't know the major one, until it is said so clearly here: Wrong male and female relationships! Poverty was worse before, schools were even less accessible before, but Mom and Dad stayed together in a Godly union and raised good kids (like Pelé). Poor kids today stand almodt no chance and become criminals because of missing family structures and cultural breakdown.

Thank you, Rabbi Daniel. I was struck by your point about a man nit becoming fully a man until he is a father. It saved and changed my life. I am passing this episode on to my sons and another young man who I am mentoring.
All blessings to you and yours.

Rabbi Lapin is right about boxing as a place to start. I would also add wrestling.

There is one fundamental axiom: either the judaic Way or the Yehoshua Way represent different streams of the same messianic Jewish mysticism. Starting from that fact, we should notice that some Jews were more oriented towards real life "here and now" while the others looked for far future somewhere in the mystical Heaven. While the first ones recommended some rational and logical steps to secure the foundation of material existence "here and now" and to get tools for changing the world into a better place in the material dimension, the second ones adviced style of life in which money played no important role. In fact, they also wanted to change the terrible world of slavery and fix broken interhuman relationships by changing human minds and emotions (hearts) (compare Gospel according to Matthew 6:19-23 and 19:21). Those two streams of thinking have co-existed over the centuries and remain valid in our days. We need money to be able to rebuild our environment in the material dimension in order to get rid of poverty, to eliminate hunger and diseases and to improve education, to name a few. But we also need to continue our work at the spiritual foundations of humanity to stop egoism and aggression, to eliminate slavery and to clean contaminated psychosphere. We, people of both Ways, we need each other in that mission of changing the world for the glory of our common God.
