@@TheUnperson I'm just a few days away from ordering Data Bender, and I'm going back over your videos that I've already watched a few times, I've heard you draw some mad shit out of that too.
Was considering selling my Beads before stumbling onto your channel. Needless to say, it's one of my favourite modules now. Thanks dude! Keep the gold coming!
I'm finding the sweet spots very narrow as I try and follow along with the reverse and Karplus strong examples, but I finally got there. It's very sensitive to the duration of notes coming in. Thanks for the thorough walkthrough.
speaking of things crazy, I'm the owner of the Z5000 myself as well ; could you tell a bit more about your usage of that module? Perhaps you can shine a positive light on it? Me, always messing with the input turning red and not a clue what to select in the delay section. In other words, I think it's a pretty stupid module but maybe it's my brain... 😶🌫
@@ambientzoneofficial it is a kinda weird module lol. I do plan to make a video on it in future and I find this is the best way to get to know a module as I’ll be reading the manual and experimenting!
Wow this is amazing especially the reverse delay! What happened at the end there? You stopped your OP1 but which buffer kept the sound that you could manipulate? Data Bender? Beads? Both are not set on freeze right? Such nice textures, with a kinda Cyberpunky vibe sometimes in my opinion! Also in Karplus Strong was super awesome and intense! Still haven't started but probably gonna go for Beads as my first real module (together with Veils +Xoh for input & output :D)
Beads is definitely a lot of fun for a first module! Especially since it's also an oscillator. The noise at the end of the reverse jam was coming from the z5000 delay which had the feedback cranked right up :)
@@TheUnperson thanks! figured it out same evening myself, I started to like this module, especially feeding it BP out of filter, and doing to scorch tape algo, the crunchy "low res" one - thanks to your videos.
wow I wish I understood better the role of the other modules in this patch. I think it would make beads stand our more clearly to me. Probably the rest of your audience already knows this stuff.
Hello Unperson, do you know the 4ms "PEG" ? I think you would be happy using it instead of Maths. You'll be amazed. It's a function generator much like Maths with a lot of overlap, same HP too. You'd loose the two additional attenuverter channels 2 and 3 in Maths, BUT seeing that you use Maths most often for its cycling envelopes, PEG is mighty there and really made to adapt to RYTHMICAL uses! Try it out.
Hey man, I remember the PEG was on my wishlist back when I first started looking into modular (and didn't really understand what it was lol). I'm gonna check it out again now that I understand modular way better - cheers!
i've said it before but your channel is extremely underrated! your jams always play to my taste
cheers man much appreciated! :)
you are officially the foremost authority on Beads!
Just got my own Beads into the rack, revisiting this video... That last Karplus jam is phenomenal. 👏
I’d forgotten about that jam!
Jesus, what just happened there? The reverse delay and karplus strong sections went right off the rails! Completely mental, and wonderful as always.
haha yea the reverse one went pretty mental! Cheers man! :)

Cheers man! I was pretty underwhelmed by Beads when I first got it. I really rewards time and exploration :)
Wow the flanger part - man you are crazy - thanks for this - warms up my heart as always

Marvelous, as always :)
thank you! :)
very nice
thank you! :)
stunning video! simply stunning
cool! btw when beads is in delay mode the attenuverter becomes a dj style filter (lpg left / hpf right) with a bit of resonance!!
Ohh I didn’t know that! Gonna check it out ☺️
Ja man! Ridiculously good sounds ⚡@20:00 ....Out of this World !!!
haha yea it went a bit crazy around that time!

Cheers man! Glad you enjoyed ☺️
Lovely sounds.
Thank you :)
Beautiful and inspiring! As always 🙌
Thank you 🙏
Another amazing video. I’m loving this little series on Beads.
Cheers man! There's just so much more depth to this module than I first realised! :)

You're the best.

you rule, sooo good 👍
haha thank you!! :)
What’s the pico input module your using to get audio into you setup
Anybody knows, which vsti can make that Karplus strong sound? I really like it.
Whoa
How do you get that screeching sound at 18:40 when you tweak maths??? I need to know wtf u doing 😫😭
I think maths in modulating the pitch at this moment... with the density knob all the way left it creates that crazy screech! lol
What’s the freeze cv getting? Just global steps gates?
Yep just a square gate from Pam’s :)

Hey man - I definitely plan on doing a video explaining the set-up in more detail in future, probably soon! :)
You are not alone
@@888cromartie Just uploaded a video tonight with an in-depth look at my rig :)
@@TheUnperson great, I'll check it out thanks. I enjoy the sounds and it would be great to get some clarity on what is doing what.

damn 19:00 those crazy sounds !! deep bass, so nice !!
It did go a bit off the rails around there - the joys of improvised patches!
Do you have a delay going into Beads as a delay?
yep the tiptop audio Z5000 is before it in the chain
@@TheUnperson to clarify, essentially a delay into another delay?
Hi can u post when ur playing next, missed the recent one. I'm Central belt so no excuse not to come along Cheers 👍
Hey there - I absolutely will post any future gigs up on youtube!
Unbelievable…
haha cheers!!
