It's still one of the most aerodynamically efficient cars on the street. With those hubcaps, it reaches Cx of 0.29. It's much better than most of new cars, and better than most of supercars. If you only give the car a really long main gear ratio and just a few hundreds of horsepower, it can reach absurd speeds. If you give it 1000 horsepower and keep the standard shape and full wheels, it will beat Bugatti Veyron.

I love this show.
Worth mentioning, this generation Firebird with those hubcaps is one of the most aerodynamically efficient production cars ever made, with drag coefficient of just 0.29. It's much better than most cars on the street today, and better than most supercars. It can really reach absurd speeds with relatively little horsepower, just as long as the final gear ratio is long enough.

Michael Knight has got even better hair than on the other seasons.
Hmm, it's not my favourite of all his hairstyles, but I do prefer it over his hair in late Season 3 episodes, where it looked like it was starting to grow down the back of his neck.
I love it that KITT gets a little self-conscious because he got turned down by some car theives.
This one is the best of all the 90 episodes of the show
Not sure about that mate, but it's definitely a memorable one.
Season 4 was a silly season for the most part, the best episodes for me occurred between Season 1 and early Season 2.
It's like that for pretty much any TV series you can name.
Season 3 was my favorite, & KITT had the best look of all seasons.
@@pinball541 It was all about late Season 1 to early Season 2 for me.
Only liked one or two episodes deep into Season 2 and Season 3. Same for Season 4 really, okay early on, got gradually less appealing as you went along.
I agree that Season 3 K.I.T.T. had the best look, although if you'd asked me as a kid I would have sworn by Season 2's look, as my favourite episodes were really from that Season.
@@Longlostpuss- As a kid I watched all 4 seasons in the 80's, but when SPM KITT was introduced I lost a lot of interest in the show. I would watch during season 4, and hope SPM wasn't used that episode.
@@pinball541 I know what you mean, I thought SPM really took you out of the willing suspension of disbelief, totally ruined it.
Wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't have to do the frame skipping to make K.I.T.T. look faster, but it just looked so implausible watching it, plus it was just rinsed for really arbitrary reasons.

Ahh...I had forgotten they dealt with KITT being "aged" in this ep. In 1982 KITT was like a spaceship in styling. By 1985 some would say KITT was looking a bit dated compared to the new factory Trans Am. I imagine the studio discussed changing to the new model but decided to stay with the old style for cost reasons such as recycled footage. Also, the lower ground effects of the 1985+ Trans Am would be problematic for stunts.
Well I'm glad they didn't change to a new model cuz KITT as a 1982 Trans Am still looks futuristic today. Maybe the seating and padding in the car look a bit dated compared to those in modern cars, but the actual car itself has stood the test of time. Like Michael says, KITT defies time. Mustang KITT in the 2008 series looks like a great car, but I'll always take Trans Am KITT any day.

I know this was common in Knight Rider, but love how Season 3's premiere episode "Knight of the Drones" features no guest stars who appeared in other episodes in different roles before or after (apart from the cab driver giving an elderly couple a lift, who was a recurring extra in the show). While this Season 4 premiere episode features a trio of guest stars from previous episodes. Pamela Susan Shoop from "Knight of the Phoenix", Nicholas Worth from "Knight of the Chameleon" and John Considine from "Knight in Disgrace".

And let’s not forget Killer KITT where Bronwyn wears a facial appliance that looks like Bonnie to gain entry into KITT. With the exception of RC, everyone had a twin. If you count the mannequin in the SUV of Goliath returns, even April had a twin lol.
Kind of gimmick in the 80s, every show had an evil twin, either literally or by declaration. 'Dempsey and Makepeace' (British show); 'He's whom you would be if you weren't in police force.'
Kitt is a classic old school but a classic

In the opening scene, KITT is a hard top Trans-Am stunt car, not the original t-top KITT.
And although i am not a good fan of the spm mode, knight of the juggernaut is still one of the best episode of the show.

It's cool how Knight of Juggernaut took a serious turn, went for a little dark sci-fi (even the film is shaded to create the mood). It's a pity they didn't continue like that, or any other solid way, but just went into extreme cost cutting.
The cost cutting was done by Universal Studios.
Strange that.... "Sugar Ray Leonard" got mentioned....but never got actually featured in knightrider! 😐

At 0:38, I recognize the Doral Pantry across the street. It is located on Michigan Avenue and Lake Street, downtown. I remember that. Also, that business building that Michael and Ms. Shoop is standing in, I walked pass there hundreds of times over the years. At 3:43 is city hall. Chicago, my town.

Kitt: Too expensive. The budget was spent in the second part. We just need some tension and an implied threat to fill 5 minutes.

I live in Chicago, and it fascinates me that the episode shows some very familiar spots. In recent years, I watched the episode on my DVD set. They show a Citicorp (now a Citibank) in the Loop, Lake Point Tower, Lake Shore Drive by Oak Street Beach, and the closing scene is at Buckingham Fountain. One thing I haven't figured out is what the building is where Michael talks to Devin on the phone in the lobby.
That lobby scene could have been filmed back in LA (not sure), as they did film some of the episode back there such as the interior semi scenes at Universal Studios. Joe from Knight Rider Historians on their channel is doing a new episode by episode filming locations then-and-now series. He's only a few episodes into Season 1 so far, but he'll get to Knight of the Juggernaut eventually!

Each season premiere episode was set in various cities. "Goliath" (Season 2) was set in Las Vegas, "Knight of the Drones" (Season 3) was set in San Francisco and of course here Season 4's premiere episode "Knight of the Juggernaut" was in Chicago. Not quite sure about the pilot episode "Knight of the Phoenix" though.

And for a long time I was planing to build terminator lifesize but I can't get e ndoskeletons... but kitt is a lot easier to build at least he's not gona throw my toaster around.. so yeah Time to build K.I.T.T

Ikr, and didn't exactly have a satisfying final episode with "Voo Doo Knight". Which is why I always watch "The Scent of Roses" as the finale despite airing midway in the season.

I don’t think it airs on the regular episode, I have never seen it.
The syndacated reruns remove around 18 minutes from the 2 hour movies to make them 2 parts. This scene among many others were removed to add more commercials, a recap in part two, and an extra beginning and end credits for part two. This episode is uncut on the dvd version.

This episode was full of suspense.I was shocked though at Jeniffer Knight wanting to shut down the foundation.
I like the fact that anytime between 05:06 to 05:09 you can clearly see that Michael is wearing sneakers but on 06:26 you see the gas pedal being hit as he says so by wearing a black square mock toe shoe or however they call them.
I wonder which freeway that was under construction.
