  • Old school Silicon Graphics O2 Workstation mostly for imaging.
Very expensive back in the mid 90's but today I turn it into scrap :)
Just had to open one up to see and get the main components out to use to rebuild two good ones.

Please don't kill rare old computer stuff! There are whole communities dedicated to restoring and keeping alive these pieces of computing history! On a business standpoint the additional time it takes to sell these things will be payed tenfold the scrap value of many things.

@@chadcmb Two O2s, several Indigos, a few Indys, along with assorted peripherals and software. Add to that lots of Sun Equipment (from Pizzabox style Sparcstations to earlier Ultras, and a handful of 19" equipment) and Commodore "Home Computing" parts and machines from C64 to Amiga 4000. Sometimes I give parts or machines to local hackerspaces that are interested in restoring or exploring older computers...

The CPU is a MIPS architecture RV5000 made but IDT (Integrated Device Technology). What looks like a stretched out S is the Mathematical symbol for Integration, hence Integrated Device Technology.

if you ever pick up an sgi indy, make sure to check for the ultra-rare n64 dev board. It'll have 6 "phone jacks" on the back, along with a nintendo video port. Then on the board, it should have a blue piece of tape on it with the ID number. I'd give you 2k easy for one of these

You can always tell when people haven't actually watched the video or your channel properly, just go in on you for scrapping, clearly haven't watched you save all the components for restoration and your buyer etc etc, they clearly don't appreciate that you are also a collector and how much you used to try to sell on ebay etc! Why people come and watch a scrapping channel and then moan about some things being scrapped is beyond me, I get it too, I'm sure we all do, but the service that you have done for the planet outweighs any negative a millionfold as far as I'm concerned! Keep it up!!

You’re completely wrong, this guy is a top notch moron. He’s clearly not mechanically inclined at all and he can’t be bothered to look up how to actually take this system apart. This whole thing is modular and comes apart easily, and he’s cracking it up like a monkey with a screw driver. The plastic is very valuable on these. The plastic base/skirt which he destroys goes for $125 on eBay. As a complete system this thing is $300-$400. As parts you might get more like $500-$600 but it will take longer to sell. He destroyed almost all the value here and lost money. Stop cheering this brain dead parasite on.

What exactly do you think he’s restoring? He lost a lot of money in this video. The black plastic base he smashes to get off (it’s held on with 2 screws but this guy is so dumb he shouldn’t be allowed to turn screws anyway) is worth $125 on eBay. He lost $300-$400 for the complete system here, more like $500-$600 if you parted it out. The shit he saved like the hard drive is nearly worthless. The stuff he destroyed like the plastic, mechanicals, boards, that’s the valuable stuff. Your comment is completely off base.
