A coach betting on his baseball team is linked to leave the starting pitcher in longer than he would if he didn't have $ on it. A mgr. Might also bring a closer in who has pitched multiple innings the 2 previous nights. Normally. That closer would not pitch on that 3rd consecutive night, but if the mgr has a lot of $ on a game he might bring that closer in and risk injury or whatever. That's why coaches betting on their teams can ruin the integrity of the game.
Right on, Pete did both of those things you mentioned. Eventually the gambling grows and they do anything to pay off and keep going....including betting against your team. Good idea to NEVER allow it
I wish Billy Walters would talk about the mythical figure Michael Kent, who was the actual "brains" behind Billy's Computer Group of the 1980's. I'd also like to hear stories about the Stardust, which most old timers considered the mecca of sports betting in Vegas.
Did anyone else notice @ precisely 12:25 into this video, Billy claims that the "NFL is the toughest to beat?" Yet he said that he wins the majority of the time betting NFL games in the "60 Minutes" episode that aired back in 2011.
funny to hear them say "before the Internet." I dont think they were placing all that many bets prior to 1969 which can be argued as the birthdate of the Internet, it didnt become more available to most people til dialup became a mainsteam thing thanks to the PPP specification in RFC 1661, though technically there were ISPs a few years earlier using the SLIP protocol
@15:00 I believe billy is not factoring in live betting i belive that helps the bookmakers a lot. Fanduel creating "the pulse" bets tab was genius to rake in money daily
Lefty's are smoother for some reason at a lot of things. All the sweetest looking baseball swings come from left handers. Golf too,but not as noticeable. Why is this? Hard to say for 1reason only it's complex. Interesting discussion no doubt
Here's a constant in gambling. Novice gamblers that don't really know what they are doing always bet favorites a give points. Almost always people will look at the lines and bet games that they think the favorites will win by more than the spread. Very rarely will a novice gambler bet the underdog and take the points. Handicappers are well aware of this fact.
Very true, when I ask my buddy who likes in the NFL has never sent me an underdog. I told him this once and he got all pissed off...he realized though I was only trying to help him make more winning plays.
So it’s interesting that this guy doesn’t know why Pete Rose betting on games is a problem, but it’s the same reason that they should’ve stopped that fight to protect that fighter brain but they decided to let him go because they had so much money bet on it. There’s two problems with Pete doing that betting. If he’s spending $5000 today and only $200 tomorrow, then gives the bookmaker information that he doesn’t really think the rents are gonna win, and then secondly, if he has a really good feeling and that big , and then you get in the game, you might bring tomorrow starter in and that would be a decision detrimental to the team or not in the interest, long-term, but rather trying to find a short term fix to the fact that you gambled so much money on the game that you’re playing
For a while, he was exclusively releasing on Spotify. Their deal or contract ended so now he’s releasing all of his Spotify only episodes on his platforms
You don’t need to beat them for a long time, you need to get down as much money as possible while you have an edge. You can make an incredible amount of money in a hurry sports betting with an edge.
I was believing everything g this guy said up until he tried to say terry silver was one of his fighters, he should play poker with a game face like that Also that no sell on joes ridiculous left hand theory was just what it deserved

He’s the most successful American sports bettor of all-time. He’s been beating the piss out of ‘the scene’ for damn near 50 years. You’d be wise to take whatever you can from him.
A good reason to the problem could be him going broke and then owing more than he makes as income... so he could bet and lose even tho HES A BADASS lol... soo DONT BET THE INCOME ON A GAMBLE and never extent yourself out on your own SALES LOL
I could sit and listen to this guy talk all day long

I need to hear him go more in depth about betting on Boxing
There isn’t as much variance in boxing then team sports but the principle still applies.
@ Isnt as much variance in what way
