Hi I am I a plumber. Wants to move to Alberta not sure where , been to both cities. I am flexible. People say Calgary has more job . I liked Edmonton more than Calgary from a driving perspective. I am from winnipeg so weather is not a factor. I want a good pay city. With a town like feeling don’t like the rush . Where should I choose. Please reply as it’s a big decision and I will consider your input

Excellent comparison but I would argue that Calgary has more tech and IT jobs than Edmonton although Edmonton is ranked higher in post secondary schools and research. Also I have a feeling that Edmonton has sligtly more health care jobs than Calgary

Calgary is so much closer to the mountains and great scenery. Kananaskis is less than 1 hour away and is only 75 to 90 minute drive to Banff vs Edmonton 3 1/2 hour to 4 hour drive to Jasper. Calgary is a lot cleaner as well and the crime rate is lower. Calgary is also a transportation hub for Western Canada. Which makes it a lot easier to travel. YYC airport has way more traffic/destinations than YEG. Calgary's weather is a lot better as well. Calgary is also the sunniest city in Canada. Speaking about active, Calgary has the most extensive urban pathway and bikeway network in North America. The one thing Edmonton does have over Calgary is the Cutlture/Arts scene.

Thanks for watching! There’s definitely positives of Calgary however, we’ve noticed Edmonton has more nature as well with the River valley and it’s more substantial than bow River

I just moved to Edmonton a month ago and I love it! Transit isn’t so bad here, I’m able to get from SW to SE Edmonton relatively easily. The funicular downtown is very underrated and offers gorgeous views of the river valley and surrounding area. Shopping has that small town feel despite being a big city which is fantastic. Big city shopping in a small town setting is the perfect blend for me.
I’d love to live here long term. There’s so much growth and the city is already starting to outpace Calgary in infrastructure (Rogers Place, ICE District, LRT expansion).

Welcome! Yes the transit is getting better for sure! Especially with LRT line!

Both cities are great! Especially if you compare house prices vs. the GTA where we came from! We have decided to move to Calgary since we like being closer to the mountains, but we also looked at Edmonton in the Windermere area. We still have friends there.
