Great content yet again! I e been apart of the Bee’n’bee project for a few years now and it’s been amazing seeing multiple hotels showing up in suburban areas!

Wow, when the weather has gotten warmer suddenly there was a large flock of bees on my window (it's a damp natural corridor in front of my window as right in front is a neighbour's house with netting, so it's always partial shade). Today I was walking in front of my window and suddenly from the garden floor (filled with tiny pebbles and grass) the bees came up in thousands, flying around me. I had no idea why they were on the ground, and this explained it really well. Didn't know they nest on the ground, thank you for the knowledge! Now am feeling bad because I might've trampled on their nest...

Amazing bee footage, well done to the camera man or women ... and well done to Sophie for covering this great story, it was only approximately 7 years back that I realised how important it was to have bees in my garden.

I have found that clay cracks and falls apart even when contained in a besser brick or bamboo. Now I use clay, sand, soil/mud mix 1:1:1 and it does not crack and won't fall apart. Still should be kept under cover to prevent rain erosion.

Can native bee b&bs be used in urban gardens and balconies? I live 20 mins from the CBD and have never see native bees.

Is there any information about the best way to make one of these?? Such as a particular height off the ground? Position in full sun or partial shade??

You can buy them ready made at Bunnings. Like the video showed, put them off the ground.

Per another video: holes between 3 and 10mm, anything smaller or larger won't be used by the bee species we have in Australia
