LOL I remember seeing Brain Dennehy walking in a mall in suburban Toronto back around 91 He must have been filming something at a nearby studio and kind of looked like he was just killin' a little time. What struck me was that he always looked like a really big burly guy on screen. He was kind of barrel chested and strong but not nearly as tall as I'd imagined. The second thing that struck me about Mr. D was his walk. He had a very distinctive gait. You see it in every performance and in just about every clip.I have never seen anyone walk quite the way he did. Wanna do a Brian Dennehy impression? Pad your shoulders, puff out you chest and pretend your walking into a slight but persistent wind. Lean forward just a little, head tilted slightly down taking tiny leisurely steps. RIP Brian you never gave a bad performance.
Wow! I meant him myself that very same time in Yorkville. So nice and easy going. He asked me If I wanted his autograph and I just told him " no your busy, I just love your work" he responded by a simple "thanks man, I appreciate your support". A gentleman and a notoriously underated actor, God be with you sir.
I saw this performance!! Just a 22 year old Australian actor in New York that got to see a great performance on broadway….a truly great performance…..right there with Brando in Waterfront and Streetcar
