    It is not necessary to totally disassemble the Samsung S5 unless you have multiple issues. If you just need to change the LCD and Digitizer you remove the front section only, before reassembling, reconnect the screen ribbon to the motherboard and power up the device. If it is working, turn it off, remove the battery and proceed. This is an excellent tutorial for a complete disassembly, thank you.

      I feel bad for their fathers, who are now realising that the woman that had sex with them was not so much attracted to them as too stupid to say no. :)

    7:04 You forgot one important step. Put back the three screws holding the screen to the main frame.

    Fairly good job. The small antenna wires are not "ribbon cables," they are mini coax cables. The connection from USB docking PCB is a ribbon cable to main PCB. It's always a good idea prior to removing the 3 screws on the backside, to remove the small cover from the home button ribbon cable and disconnect it from the main board to avoid it from being damaged as you remove the display from the mid-frame.

      Now... WhAT should you do... Go and BUY one! God.... Some people use stones for a hammer. If you are doing a job, get at least some basic correct tools for it. It is as simple as this. If you don't have a heatgun of some sorts - you can't replace the screen.

      DirectFix Oh no I apologize it was actually a very informative video and put together very well. Easy to understand for all skill levels. I just noticed that there was a part left out and wanted to bring it to your attention. Thanks again

      DirectFix is definitely my go to for tutorials like this. Compared to other videos you guys really set the bar. I actually write work instructions / procedures for a living. I'm constantly making revisions so I totally understand. Keep up the good work 😊

    on ebay I see I can buy the little kit and the sgs5 screen only the glass I want to buy it but this video didint really tell me how to replace only the glass like I need. I'd I did follow the video I'd need t buy a whole new screen digitizer which is few hundred

    • @DirectFix
      @DirectFix  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Daniel correct you need to replace the complete screen assembly. To just replace the glass will require a $k to $5k machine to do it correctly. This is why we sell the complete screen assembly and not the crap glass that everyone else sells that makes you think that you can do this cheap which is false.

    I have a question. I hope somebody has an answer for me. I went to Verizon to see why my phone was not properly charging. They said my port was bent inside so they ordered a new front. Took it to Verizon, they transferred all my files. Wipes my old phone and placed in the box to return my old phone to them. Get home and my screen goes blank. Thought it needed charging. Nope, blank screen. Called Verizon, they turn around and sent me another new front. Took that to Verizon and the new one works. Got home and realized that my "memo" were not there. I went back and they would not take the fronts that I still had in my possession apart to flip them so the one with a bad port and a good screen go on the one that is a blank screen that still has my information on it. My question to you is.....do I just remove the screens and take them to Verizon or do I have to get into the motherboard. Please advise. I'm sick because I had stored a lot of information that I didn't know I could back up in a Samsung account. Thanks!!!!!

    my screen black Can i open it to check if this shit is conected and close again?

    • @KileOnasi
      @KileOnasi 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your screen is black but not physically damaged and the phone still powers on, then the LCD screen will likely need replaced, not reattached.

    • @dcmille290
      @dcmille290 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No Galaxy phones use an LCD, please don't state they do. It is an AMOLED display, nothing even close to an LCD.

    • @KileOnasi
      @KileOnasi 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Miller, colloquialisms exist within all languages and, despite what you've said, AMOLED and LCD are similar display technologies; "LCD" is going to be the term more likely to be recognized by someone referring to their display as "this shit".
      Also, pedantry is unbecoming.

    • @dcmille290
      @dcmille290 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Colloquialisms have nothing to do with being correct or incorrect. In order to properly convey advice or professionalism one needs to be accurate. This is the same as comparing Apples and Oranges. As for the $hit comment, just use "display" instead. Also, if you truly believe that the two technologies are similar, then you just became the biggest ignoramus I have ever written to.

    • @KileOnasi
      @KileOnasi 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps we have different definitions of what constitutes "similar", but thank you for the insult regardless. I think I'm done.

    Replaced the screen on my wife's phone.
    Bought it on ebay & it has terrible resolution. Colors are dull, even after all available adjustments.
    Don't make this mistake.
    Buy a good quality replacement for your phone.
