  • Retired Coaster locomotive 2103 (F40PHM-2C) debuted on the Golden State excursion train at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum on Feb. 18, 2023.
Now without its diesel engine but functional as a control unit, SDNX 2103 (ex-NCTD 2103) and Southern Pacific GP9 3873 are shown taking passengers along the old San Diego & Arizona line from Campo, California, near the border with Mexico. On the return trip, the train rolls past the depot and equipment stored outside before stopping at the exhibit hall.
There were three trips that day. The views from outside the train are from the first and third trips. The views taken from the train are from the second trip.
If you haven't been to the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum yet, go! The Motor Transport Museum is literally right around the corner, and it's great too.

Will 2103 be the new main power for the PSRM?

2103 doesn't have an engine anymore, but it can be a cab control unit. So I would expect to see it a lot but with another loco doing the work.
