- The task is simple, to get our cars to the bottom of a steep hill in BeamNg Drive. But with little grip from the ice and a whole load of obstacles general hilarity ensues.

The gummy bears are made of the same material as the trackside tires, they're simply much larger than tires so the physics aren't what you'd expect
and i think the force is applied from the center of mass, therefore since it's oddly shaped it doesn't really have the appropriate bounce. you'd need multiple components of the thing for that.
On the second offroad run I got stuck down the first dirt pit and it took me 2 million years to free myself from it in the RWD Moonhawk lol

The red areas (i.e. Santa hats, etc) are high friction and can be used to slow down so long as you don't flip trying to get to them.

Hello my favourite beamng youtuber ive been watching for a long time long and have loved these survive the descent please continue to post these as the are sooo funny
This is a really good survive the descent map. Are there going to be more vehicle categories sent down it? I'd kind of like to see another ridiculous heavyweight round on all this snow and ice.
Also when I heard about 'the boat' on Amy's video, I was kind of picturing someone dragging along a boat on a trailer, which I think would be a really difficult but funny idea for someone to try.

The open wheel cars or even those with really high/offroad suspension with a lot of travel are always a bad pick on these. You hardly ever encounter a bump where an extreme suspension saves the car from damage that would have put a normal car out of the race, and the risk of losing or bending a wheel is wayyy higher on open wheel cars or those with long floppy suspension. Once you lose a wheel or steering, you can't try to avoid the obstacles anymore and turn into a Pachinko ball

The Christmas lights near the end look way more like vibrator valley.
It is quite frustrating watching them try to drive on the ice. They almost always break the rules of driving in snow or ice.
Longbows truck in the first race reminded me of the truck from Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Those kinds of heavily sloped tracks require only 1 simple fix to make them useable: just decrease the slope, so you can actually control your car as you drive down. That would turn this race from almost completely random and therefore pointless, to actually challenging and rewarding.
This isn't entirely random, it does require you to avoid obstacles with some control. It's tough, but doable

Oh Noooooooo!
For all vehicles: Braking on ice locks the wheels. Locked wheels don't steer on ice, they slide...in the directions momentum and gravity propels them! So if you want to steer, let the brakes go, then steer your front wheels into the direction you are moving, then steer slightly in the direction you want to go. If you want to brake, use the handbrake very lightly and expect oversteer! Good luck!
I missed a step; after you steer in the direction you are moving, wait for the front wheels to rotate at the same speed you are moving. Then they have some grip and you might be able to steer a little bit....
