    Hey friends! Make sure to check out Friday's video (11/13). I'll be starting a new series on tying with Ringneck Pheasant skins and will have five skins to give out to anyone who wants to help create the flies in the series. It should be fun!

      Cool, I have a pheasant skin. I use it extensively. For the price (like $13) you can't beat the selection of colors and textures of feathers. Sounds great.

      Yep, exactly! I talk a lot about that in the video. That at $12-13 it's one of the best values out there.

    As I continue watching your videos I enjoy them more each day. All aspects together make a totally enjoyable experience. The information you offer is so helpful for us just getting started. The location of where to get the feather, how to nip or trim it, all the little tips. Your tying skills, the history, the background music that you choose, it all just allows your passion to show. This was one of my favorites for sure. I find myself being completely engrossed in the whole process. Hard for me to put into words what you are providing for all of us. God bless you buddy. Thank you Matt. Great video.

    Matt,just a note for beginners.If you hold the tag end perpendicular to the hook you can get just about perfect touching turns on the underbody.Usually comes out smooth.

      Yes, great comment and advice! And I actually knew that but when I rewatched this one I noticed I totally missed it. I'll definitely point that out on the next video. Thanks again!

    Yes, it is challenging to get smooth body and good feathers mounted. Love it 😊

      Thanks Clyde! Maybe in another 20 years I'll be able to tie some as pretty as Mike Valla's. 😁

    I was listening to your video and watched it as I was tying a black ghost feather wing. And I didn't mess up my fly lol.

      Cool! Is the black ghost similar to a gray ghost?

    I'll call this one the Christmas tree fly. Gold tinsel, red and green feathers. The perfect stocking stuffer for all your fly fishing friends.

    Thanks for sharing Matt have you tried a matuka wing fly like the ace of spades they do pretty well here in the uk

    • @SavageFlies
      @SavageFlies  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've done some standard olive and brown matukas, and have heard of the ace of spades. Somehow that stuck in my mind as one I wanted to try! Thanks Tom, I'm going to check it out again. 😁

    That's pretty cool Sir Matt. Can this type of fly be fished in still water as well as streams or rivers? I've never fished with one. It almost looks like you could use it in the ocean also. I'm going to research the streamer, Thanks Sir Matt and Great video as always Sir.

    • @SavageFlies

      Edward, sure. The fun thing about streamers is you strip then through the water, usually to imitate bait fish. And saltwater flies are pretty much all streamers!
