Dude, I don't care how many sound effects beat boxers can make, that in / out sound The Human Beat Box makes is a classic. And furthermore, is my go-to sound when trying to beatbox haha.
Same! I got in trouble with my mother as a kid for beatboxing, she didn't like it probably because I might have spit a little doing it. I was 5 when this video was recorded.
The coolest most def trio in hip hop history period! They paved the way for thousands in the music industry and no one has even come close. I grew up in the 80’s and if there was ever a wish it would be to go back for one day and relive those awesome moments 😎

+Akki Kimathi funny enough I just watched an interview where they said how old they were, I was shocked haha. I thought they were in their early/mid 20s during their early years.

I hear that some people in the hip hop community thought of the Fat Boys as sellouts because they had their own movie, their own marketing company, they made records with The Beach Boys, they had a song featuring Freddy Krueger etc. don’t they know that what the Fat Boys were doing was pushing hip hop into the international market? I guess some wanted to keep it in the hood. They helped popularize hip hop and helped in making it mainstream. They were a global success not just local and they flew the flag for hip hop at a time when it was hardest to do so, the 80s. In doing so they made hip hop what it is today and for that, everyone in hip hop should be grateful to these guys.
Rest In Power to Mark Anthony "Prince Markie Dee" Morales (1968-2021). Thanks for the unforgettable tunes and great memories from way back in the day. You will be sadly missed, Bro.
The Fat Boys should be recognized as legends. They inspired many groups including Beastie Boys. Listen to a BB album and I guarantee you’ll hear a beat from The Fat Boys
Man I'm glad beatboxing was brought back...if y'all still into beatboxing search up swiss beatbox and y'all would see how much beatboxing has advanced from then and now...its amazing how we all advanced so much in beatboxing...🤘🤙
R.I.P. to the legendary Mark Morales A.K.A. Prince Markie Dee I can’t believe it dead at only 52 years old that’s so young I remember growing up back in NYC listening to The Fat Boys music, my dad grew up with Kurtis Blow and my dad told me a story that Kurtis Blow had introduced them to my dad back in 1984 when Kurtis was working on their project debut album Prince Markie Dee will always be remembered as on the legendary pioneers of hip hop. We’re Fat We’re Fat We Can Never Be Whack And If You Go For That Then We’ll Be Back!!!
I’d love to hear the human beat box sampled on more records. That crazy ass breathing sound he made is legendary and needs to be brought back to hip hop.
The 1st time I ever saw the Fat Boys was one Saturday night on A music show called "New York Hot Tracks". That's when I became a fan! R. I. P. Prince Markie D!
I remember watching this on tv when I spent the summer in Dallas with my peeps I think it was back in '84. I was only 12 back then damn time sure does fly now that 50 is around the corner.
Back in the day way before “pro tools” and all the crap that makes it easier. They just did it themselves with vocal talent , lyrics, beat boxing. I still remember being a kid and all of this was new.
When I was young watching these guys, I thought that Buff also played House in Police Academy. But House was actually played by Tab Thacker. They looked alike. Tab also played pro football back in the day. Sadly he passed away too.
Damn. So talented, so raw and still they're refined. I love The Fat Boys. Buff was fire on the beat. The studio tracks he's more in the back, here he was the spotlight sometimes overpowering the lyrics. What a treat the Disco 3.
I was having a really bad day and then I watched this. It took me back to a happy time.
These guys were one of a kind. A gag group idea but no one and I mean no one could beat box like them. Fr fr. ❤
Back in the day I could, and I didn't have to cover my mouth like everyone else...

Dougie is a bag of magic tricks, Biz was great, funny AF and humble dude but Buff got had bass beat on lock.
