I'm a retired police officer. I've attended these calls. Please.... if you come across a situation like this, call the police. You will not be faulted for caring about someone's welfare. It's sad that her neighbours were oblivious to the signs outside her home - whether intentionally or not. Do the right thing.
Thank you for your service and I totally agree with you as a retired nurse of 40 years. I recently made a call to 911 regarding a situation folks were talking about but not doing anything about it and so I called 911 and requested a welfare check on her. The Sherriff asked me why I had done so and my response to him: I totally believe in "if you see, or hear something, say something" I'd rather be safe than sorry and know I'd done as much as I could do, and it was now up to the authorities. They can't do anything if they don't know. We're their eyes and ears and we need to speak up on behalf of others that are unable to do so for themselves. Especially the elderly. I've lost friends that were found dead in their homes for days. Breaks my heart:(
I was post'man' once. Short story: I rang the bell where I did NOT have to be. An elder lady opened the door and was surprised. She was happy to have a short chat. It was my instict that made me ring the doorbell. Your body is wiser than you know and knows where to be.
This was a beautiful story that shows that at some stage in life you must accept help as person. I'm happy for Darius as he called the police in time and I loved the neighbours for helping Mrs Thompson for bills and health
Shocking story. God bless that mailman and everyone who helped. I well remember my elderly dad who lived across the ocean and receiving a call close to midnight letting me know dad had scratches on his face. Turned out he had cataracts and was actually losing his sight. He had been walking into bushes, etc. Thank God for that caring neighbor. Back then, cataracts seemed to be big deal. Many times we do not know how to help a neighbor because he(she) are independent and private. You can only try to help but can't force people to respond. Bless all those wonderful people.
As postal people, we visit each house every day and see people. This boy is a hero by calling for help. I applaud this young man. I too have called for help for my customers.
❤ We all need to learn to be a good neighbour. Kindness costs nothing but means everything to the recipients. Spreading Love takes less effort than hating.
@@user-Tortured-soul Sometimes the "once very caring people" turn cold and sometimes they seem hateful because of their own bad events in life. In April 2019, I heard - Tell them I am coming soon. Later in the day I heard: There will be a great shaking. When I didn't tell a particular church about it, I got a dream where I was scared. I could hear myself saying: I'll tell them, I'll tell them, I'll tell them. Then I saw a person in the dark with well lit church windows behind him and another person dressed in white walking behind him and up some stairs. Jesus is coming. On April 9, 2021, my vision went black for a quick moment, I saw in gold letters - Thus saith the Lord. Four hours later? On April 10, in my sleep I heard - Prophet. Tell them I am coming soon. Maybe 3-5 min after that, at 1235 AM, our area had a 3.1 eq.

Had a technical problem with this episode. I hear about Darius and his concern for his patron and all of a sudden I'm in the lawn with livestock. Deer are gambolling in her park. Very odd.
I find it hard to believe that the neighborhood would help. None of them even questioned why they hadn't seen her. It's a nice little fairy tale, but real life isn't like this.

….so for 2 weeks nobody really find out that she is not active?????…strange…..
So lovely
what stands out to me in this story, isn't the beauty of Darius, but the CHURCH LADiES she had an established relationship with NEVER CALLED or did a WELL CHECK, it took the MAiLMAN a practical STRANGER to WONDER HOW she was doing and ultimately BY THAT ..saving HER LiFE. All she neeed was CARING.. i wonder if she wondered why they never called as she lay there in decay

I know right ? People don't want to get envolved😢.
I thought he was her mailman. What, he hadn't delivered mail there in a few weeks!!
I love the video...

@@jeanniemullinder9038 Need surgery go private and see if you can afford it, plus the after care.
@@100Mickl No I'm not the NHS has problems. You will never be turned away because you can't afford the treatment. If you don't agree don't use it go private.
@@jeanniemullinder9038 See how far your savings will go if you need to have surgery and after treatment, if you didn't use the NHS
Didn't the police tell the mail man to wait there it was the policeman they went to the door?
A comforting pat on the hand not pet.no he's not study her he was steading her
Why didn't a woman her age have Medicare?
Where were The Neighbors?????

She was stabbed in the stomach too. The doctor didn't mention that.
Sounds like a click bait story
Had a technical problem with this episode. I hear about Darius and his concern for his patron and all of a sudden I'm in the lawn with livestock. Deer are gambolling in her park. Very odd.
I have a stroke I know how it is
I find it hard to believe that the neighborhood would help. None of them even questioned why they hadn't seen her. It's a nice little fairy tale, but real life isn't like this.
Shame on her neighbors for not noticing what Darius did!!
