I am a German imigrant to Canada and one of the things I dearly miss is the highly organized workplaces such as the Diana/GSG factory. Workplaces and employees have a laxed attitude in this country (Canada) and have a ' that's good enough ' attitude .
    Great video, enjoyed watching.

Back in the early 60's I was stationed in Germany, and being on the rifle and pistol team, I also shot airgun at some of the Rod and Gun clubs. I bought a Diana air pistol to compete with and it was fantastic, often putting one pellet on top of another. It came with several different front and rear sights. I wish I still had it.

As a manufacturing guy (i.e. "factory rat"), it appears that this facility is very well organized and maintained. In my (decades long) experience, this is a reflection of good management and training, among other things. From a lean manufacturing perspective, it would be interesting to study the value stream flow and other lean production factors.
One of the terms that they are using early on in this video is "quality control" when, in fact, what they are actually talking about is "quality assurance"...big difference. I like how transparent the company representative is which is a reflection of how confident he is in how well this factory is being run. Also, the fact that a company, such as, Sig Sauer has chosen Diana to be one of their reps speaks volumes for their reputation and commitment to excellence.

It is certainly an honor to be able to visit a weapons factory. Fortunately, we can follow that mouth watering on our screen. The competent sales manager will have noticed through this channel that you don't just give "out of the box" reviews, weeks spent on it, supported by results on paper. The man could answer your barrage of questions well, even fluently in English. Your SPA question didn't even make him waver. Wonder how many people work in the factory? My only question that was not answered. Think and hope that you will get your hands on the XR 200. I took my first step into the pcp world with the Stormrider Gen2. Diana and any brand should no longer be allowed to market any type of PCP unregulated. Perhaps the engineer is in the "dark room" in "ze vault" designing an airrifle with a traditional spring or gas spring, in combination with a rotating magazine and under or sidelever. Wouldn't that be exclusive? Furthermore, I can only confirm that you chose the date well with a "Schutzenfest". Beforehand I advised to plan this during the "Oktoberfest". Your lovely wife would have amused herself even more with the thigh-slapping men in "lederhosen" and you yourself could "visually" enjoy the "wunderschöne frauen" with luscious boobs.

All of your factory tours have been really interesting, Markus the sales manager gave us lots of good information from your questions, I think many of us started out with a Diana springer in our youth so it's nice to see there is still some continuity with the models being made today. I am looking forward to your follow-up videos concentrating on their new pcp and also when you get one for testing at home, the price point would appear to be similar to offerings from the likes of BSA and FX so it will have some strong competition.

39:20 That scope rail seems a bit short. How about making it picatinny, with 20 MOA elevation machined in (for slug use)?
The barrel support in the breechblock also seems a little short. Makes the barrel band at the front very important. Not free floating barrel, which may change point of impact as the air tank pressure drops in use. (tanks length and diameter grow under pressure, and applies force to barrel shroud).

An under lever system, gas-ram riffle is a missing piece in the air rifle world. I believe the only company that has addressed this need is Hatsan. Diana, please, address this need in the market. At the same time creating a recoil system similar to your side levers rifles in a gas ram, under lever, recoil reduced riffle.

@@germansportguns The retail aspect is the thing. Diana air gun supply is not and never has been an issue. The issue, is that we have plenty of (essentially) fishing shops, operating under the chain ‘Hunting & Fishing’; and apart from that, we have dedicated gun shops that concentrate on ‘bang sticks’ with a few air rifles/guns on the side. Young’s Airguns is the only dedicated ‘main street’ retailer of air guns/rifles in New Zealand. Auckland is a bit of a pain to navigate but it is time that I went back for another visit, both for shopping and to see family. Have a good weekend.

    Hello Sir,
Thank you for your footage of Diana air rifles. They look like super, super quality air rifles.
I would love to work in an environment like that. Their employees look valued and happy. They look to have all the necessary machinery and tooling to create and manufacture such beautiful, genius products. They all look like they care about what they are producing and achieving, which comes from feeling you are valued as an employee. Their workspaces were roomy and very tidy. This is all an integral part of producing a quality item. I would so like to see this company do so well.
Their Air King Pro is a side lever, working on a sliding sledge system, made so to absorb the recoil from an extremely strong spring. It is a super accurate top end spring air rifle. A super piece of kit and engineering genius.
Also, in your footage, you showed one of Diana's pcp air rifles, which looked super lightweight. It was regulated, and it's barrel manufactured by Lothar Walthur. That looked like a fantastic piece of kit, too.
I met the gentleman from Diana at the 2023 British Shooting Show at the NEC, Birmingham. He was a lovely gentleman to speak to. He was polite, well-mannered, confident, proud, and knew his products. Regrettably, I didn't know who he was at the time, though I hope to speak with him again sometime in the future.
Thank you again, and best wishes.

I agree with this. I like the look of the "vintage" springers more than I do the new ones. As for PCP's, go wild! lol. Steve

Loved this factory tour, thanks! As with any manufacturing process the biggest cost is packaging, transport and then duties make a big portion of the cost of the final product. Imagine how much cheaper the end product could be without all the red tape! It's a worldwide phenomenon which disgusts me especially when one has to compete with the Eastern Countries. Imagine how much safer the world would be without all the bureaucrats ruining everything.

I saw your video review of the Weihrauch HW35E and spoke about Barrel droop and I want to share my experience with two of my break barrel rifles. After numerous adjustment, I couldn't get the pellet to hit close to the center target without having to go past the safe range of windage and elevation adjustments to the center 0 of the scope. As all break barrel rifles have barrel droop, I assumed that this was my problem and shimmied the scope and don't realize that it was hitting higher than before. Now it was hitting more than 5 inches high. So, after breaking one of my scoops, I started to shimmy the front scope mount and see what would happen.
I centered my new scope to 0, which I had shot it numerous times, it shimmied on the back mount. Now to my amaz, the shots were closer to the center of the target only requirering s few adjustments to the windage and elevation and still staying within a safe range in the scopes center 0 and still having room to adjust and not break the it.
Tell me if you have experienced this in any brand of air rifle or if I'm doing something wrong, because for it to happen with two of my air rifles is crazy.
I just wanted to share with you my experience with the issues of barrel droop. Please give me a comment on your thoughts. A viewer from the Caribbean. Bless you and Gods speed.

To me, this doesn't sound like barrel droop. It sounds familiar though as I've experienced it many times before with spring guns. In my experience it is very likely one of three things, or a combination of them. It's either inconsistent hold & approach, wrong ammo for the barrel's preference, or a scope that is adjusted so far off its center-line that it won't hold a reliable zero. Alos, make sure all the stock screws are tight and stay tight or POI will wander. Hope that helps. Steve

Wow! Good point about the same personnel assembling air guns are also assembling firearms. Focused in on paramount details, resulting in much more finished product.
Love where they are going, with one exception. Although the performance side is crazy heavy with enthusiasts, there is an mostly overlooked market for airguns that are self- contained, much like Seneca Aspen. But, the self reliant market wants a product that is compact, rugged, reliable, on board power plant energy source, user maintenance friendly, with the energy for at least small game - medium even better. Also with many add-on choices. The tech is there. I believe Seneca’s butterfly pump is maybe the key to making this a reality. Cheers and thanks a bunch.

when I was about ten I had a Dianna .22 break barrel rifle, it was about the same length as me and cocking it was a struggle, that rifle was so powerful it would crack house bricks and burry the slug so deep into breeze blocks you couldn't see them, go straight through sold oak doors from 25 yards, it had been up powered with a new spring and seals and a spring topper (that what we called them, they were thick rubber bungs that put the spring under more pressure). I always remember the quality of the metal, blue and smooth as silk, it looked like it had been varnished the metal was so deep blue and smooth, and had a great wooden stock as well, that and my GAT were the first air guns I had, I used to shoot knitting needles out the rifle and they were dangerous, they would bury so deep into telegraph poles it was impossible to get them out,

I have been a Diana fan since my childhood , seeing this TH-cam vdo is so very exciting. I own a Diana 350 Magnum, the issue is for me 60+ of age to cock the barrel it takes a huge effort, can you look into it & can your research ensure easier loading , otherwise the rifle is joy & I am proud to own one.

That was a super interesting video. I hope someday you get a chance to do a similar tour at Weihraugh, it would be nice to compare them. I think my next springer will be a Diana with the T6 trigger unit 😀. A tip for Diana Airguns. Make shorter carbine versions for the European market, i think it is safe to say we airgunners like them a bit shorter. And if they come with 1/2unf thread for a silencer or airstripper it would be even better.
