I am really glad this scored well, played the demo and really enjoyed it. Definitely got across that eerie feeling and also really like the stranger entering a little village and the feeling that the locals are hiding something from you. Amazing to have a game that feels so chill during day time but at night I can feel myself panicking to get back home! Love it
I gobbled up the demo earlier this week, and I’m so happy the full product seems to be just as good. I love the character portraits, kinda have a Dishonored vibe to my eyes. Can’t wait to sink deep into this one! Great review.
I'll admit I'm kind of obsessed with this game! I tried the demo thinking, I'll be bored after 10 minutes. 2 hours later I was still really enjoying it but didn't want to pay full price....2 days later I just kept thinking "I really want to play Dredge" then boom paid full price. Its rare for me to buy digital at full price but this is worth it! I love the music, gameplay and the methodical approach to how your in game day will play out. I love the air of mystery too and that sense of panic when that fog rolls in 😊.
I just started this since my daughter bought it for me for Father's Day. She knows since this video, I've been itching to get my hands on this. Its wonderful, and amazing. Literally had two jump scares already. The level of panic as night sits in is definitely real. When i was younger and in the Coast Guard, when i drove a boat at night or through a blizzard, the panic is definitely a real feeling for sure. Thanks, guys, for another great recommendation, as this game does not disappoint. I couldn't imagine this in my backlog.😅
Gotta love the lovecraftian angle to games like this. The paranoid system at night is a really interesting way of applying that lovecraftian touch, and the game looks a lot more mechanically fun than I was expecting. Definitely going into the wish list. Thank you as always for the review!
Downloaded this yesterday, and I’m absolutely loving it so far. I highly recommend the demo for anyone who’s unsure - it’s very generous as demos go (about 2 hours of gameplay) and more than enough to make up your mind.
This game is an absolute banger. The simple mechanics meld so well together with the overall atmosphere and haunting narrative weaving in and out of your travels. I couldn’t put this game down once I started. Had to be forced off by responsibilities lol. Hands down one of my favorites this year.

Rarely do I get super excited about games. But from the first reveal of Dredge I was hooked. I played the demo and was hungry for more. I'm definitely buying this.
I didn't even know about this game until a couple days ago and never really expected to see a game like this built around fishing but I'm so glad this game exists. Great game.
I'm loving this game! Such a chilled out experience until you start to venture out into open sea, then the tension starts to increase! The first Leviathan I saw had me zig zagging towards the coastline in complete shock! The darkness really ramps up the tension, making me jump when creatures come out of the fog or from the murky depths! A great game for me! Glad you liked it too!
I appreciated you guys reviewing this one! I’ve honestly been looking for a “fishing-style” game and although this game doesn’t have similar fishing mechanics to a typical fishing game, I feel that it captures the “vibe” of fishing super well through the audio and visual mechanics. The price is a bit high, I agree, but this is definitely something I’m going to keep my eye on for a potential sale in the future! Looks like fun!
I rarely preorder games but this one was one of my few exceptions. Fell in love with the demo and it quickly convinced me to get the full game. Played for like three hours last night and I'm loving it so much, which is kind of ironic cause I love the ocean but usually hate horror media. Thanks for bringing this game to my attention in your weekly preview!
This game excels where other Lovecraftian themed games have often failed. Namely, it is SUBTLE in its approach to horror, whereas other Lovecraftian titles try too hard to be “weird” right off the bat. Secondly, it doesn’t use its spooky theming as a crutch for mediocre gameplay. This actually has an addictive and, dare I say, FUN gameplay loop.
It's been a long time since I was excited about a game before it was released. To the point of looking forward to the release date. This game has accomplished that for me. I still played the demo before jumping in because being constantly burned by the gaming industry has left me hesitant to get excited. It was a blast and I bought the full game. I'm very glad I did. I'm a sucker for stylistic art and beautiful soundtracks with minimal overly-synthetic sounds. The wind and string instruments in dredge are wonderful and add to the overall spooky feel. Definitely recommended!
So glad this one has done well. The eshop felt quite barren for a long time, with only a handful of games really grabbing me each month, if any. Recently it feels like there is definitely some good games to play and it looks like Dredge is one of them.
Been playing this non stop all day. Ordered physical for switch and digitally for ps5. Its amaze. Its so creepy. Like hobs barrow, you know somethings up bit you can't our your finger on it. Then the longer the days go on the crazier the stuff that happens to you. Low key goty
Oooooh! At least one of the games I was looking forward to turned out to be a real catch! As much as I have a fear of deep waters, Lovecraftian influences in a game is always a plus for me. Definitely gotta add this to the catalog.
I got myself the deluxe edition: mini poster, sticker sheet, voucher for a digital soundtrack and a dlc code as well. As for the game, it kept me up all night.
I pre-ordered this as l loved the demo. Put an hour or so into it last night and looking forward to play some more over the weekend. Enjoying it enormously so far!
I played the demo to completion and I tell ya I just fell in love with the game. Can't wait to pick the full release up, because I feel like I'm missing out on something by not having it. Just a great little game. I would've given it a 90 out of 100 but that's just me. Thanks for the review!
Yet another of your recommendations I followed... Bought it as soon as I came back from work and I absolutely love it! Thanks a lot, you guys are the curators of my backlog ❤️👍
I really like the idea and look of the game. I would hope that it gets more complex as the story progresses and those artefacts/treasures play a big part. I’m interested but perhaps further down the line since I’m heavily invested in another run through of BotW.

I remember seeing a reddit thread a couple years ago about making a fishing game that has you catching regular fish and the longer you play and the better your gear, the fish you catch get stranger and stranger until you catch lovecraftian monstrosities that slowly make you go insane.
I'm not usually into horror games, but this one has me intrigued. I guess it's the Lovecraftian vibe which does that (I've always like cosmic horror, even though plain horror isn't quite for me). Mmm... I'm gonna try the demo! Thanks for the review!
