The saddest part is when you can actually hear Law crying because it meant that Corazon’s sound barrier was gone and that he died.

Corazon dying in the snow is such a perfect symbolic ending. The snowfall covers his face in a way that resembles the pattern of the White Lead on Law's skin. He took Law's place and died so that Law could live.
Damn this made me cry 😢
Honestly, after this flashback came out, and looking at his character/actions as a whole, Law’s love for Corazon becomes even MORE profound and impressive when you consider that
1) in the manga, Law called Corazon his “most cherished person”
2) Law named his crew after Corazon
3) Law designed his Jolly Roger after Corazon
4) Law tattooed Corazon’s smile (as well as various other references to Corazon) all over his body
5) Law literally said that the only reason he bothered living was to fulfill Corazon’s dream, and that he would happily destroy himself and the entire world (except his crew) for Corazon’s sake
6) Law’s the ONLY character in One Piece whose ultimate goal revolves around his dead flashback character. Like everyone else’s dead flashback character helped INSPIRE/STRENGTHEN their goals, but their goals nonetheless would have existed even if the other person weren’t there. Law, though?? His ultimate goal is basically built on Corazon, full stop
7) This is WAY more obvious in the original Japanese, since some of it didn’t translate to English very well, but the language Law uses to talk about Corazon in his speeches is almost uncharacteristically and manically emotional. Like, in Japanese, he apparently comes across as so overwhelmingly reverent when it comes to Corazon that he genuinely sounds like a raving lunatic and a prime example of Love Makes You Crazy, which is part of the reason why both Doflamingo and motherfucking LUFFY were implied to be heavily unnerved by Law’s sheer level of devotion to the guy
Say what you will about Law, but you can’t deny that he hardcore overdosed on that loyalty and devotion juice, lol

For number 6 you forgot about Chopper. Hiriluk was the one who introduced chopper into the world of medicine and Chopper caries on his philosophy that nothing can't be cured.
This is even sadder in hindsight because Law believes Corazon only saved him because he’s a D.
He thinks Corazon has an ulterior motive, yet still devotes his entire life for him, just because Corazon is the only person who had ever showed him kindness.

I really liked the touch of knowing Corazon was holding onto life to keep Law safe but the second you hear Law crying you know that Corazon was truly gone. It always makes me tear up watching that moment. I am glad Law got a new chance at life because of Corazon.

One piece be like "A nice and fun adventure of Luffy and his pirate crew that eventually will temporarily destroy you with sad deaths"
One of my favorites examples of this is the dog Chouchou from the beginning of the story. Oda just randomly introduces a dog with a super sad backstory of it's owner dying and leaving him the pet food shop and then has the dog has to watch the shop get burned down in front of him while he's powerless to stop it. Jesus Christ Oda!
Some people still like to say this manga is for kids!

He thought of them when the strawhats got to Sabody archipelago i believe. Most of the time when you write fiction, you dont plan for everything to have special meaning or significance, first you make the thing/character then later you can find a way to connect them. Oda has a general idea for each story arc, then goes into detail later.
@@MountAverage28 there's interviews about it, he never planned them before his editor of the time said Sabaody was gonna be boring so he made them up 1 day before turning the chapter in
That's not what happened.. Oda said he originally planned to introduce them in new world as Luffy rivals but his editor thought Sabody was boring so he introduced them earlier instead of new world.

I must say that Robin's backstory was the first thing that made me cry in one piece. Merry funeral was close and i got spoiled for Ace and whitebeard's death. Second time i cried was Law's backdtory

The snow covering Corazon's body was also an allusion to Law's now-cured amber lead disease, the symptoms of which were white spots all over the sick person's body.
The power of the Cry Cry Fruit was strong in this one, you need to control your DF power better Allona!

That is what I love about one piece villains are not bad just for the sake of being villains there is actually reason but they are not bad only because of their circumstances either....for every doflamingo there was a corazon who went through same thing...for every arlong there is a jimbe....

Corazon design, His style, his coat, and his make up are perfect.

Corazon's Calm Calm fruit allowed him to stay calm after being shot. That's why he was able to endure all those bullet holes & never freaked out when he would set himself on fire (like most people would).
Rosiante became the person that Doflamingo needed the most in his life as a child, for Law, and as a result he changed the trajectory of his life.
18:13 Such a dilemma for Rosinante. He's a commander in the navy but he can't tell Law that since he's afraid Law will hate him for that. That's why I love One Piece: the relationships are complicated and the characters are complex. Even if Rosinante is a good guy, the goverment and the navy are corrupt. Though there are people like him that believe in the right thing in the navy (Sengoku, Garp, Tsuru, Fujitora, Smoker, Tashigi etc). The same goes with pirates, even if most steal, kidnap, kill etc there are also good, compassionate pirates (White Beard and his crew, Luffy and his crew, Gold D. Roger and his crew, Shanks and his crew etc). Even merciless pirates like actually Doflamingo care about family. He is loyal to them and protects them unless they betray him.

I don't know if you noticed, Diez Barrels is X Drake's father, as you can see young X Drake in this episode jumping from the window of the burning building. He was saved by Navy when he escaped from his pirate father in this episodes. EDIT: I see you noticed that, but I don't know if you knew he was Barrels' son.

@@suneeday9576 Numancia used to be a real city in Hispania, at the north of today's Spain, that was at war with the romans for half a century. Eventually, the inhabitants ran out of food because of the siege the new instored and decided to commit suicide and burned the city so it couldn't be taken. You could draw parallels with Dressrosa under the birdcage, as a city sieged or to Doflamingo's wickedness, but it could also be just a name drop of an ancient north-hispanic location.
Flamingo is for the figurehead of the ship and Doflamingo's aesthetic of course.

I kinda forgot how good this flashback was. Corazon was just great. The way he tried to make Law smile and laugh all the time really tears me up in the good way. Such a beautiful character.
It's really amazing how these stories get written. You look at how Law and Corazon's relationship/interactions with each other were when they very first met, how it ended up and everything in between that made it the end so emotional.
That's why it always trips me out when people bash on anime. The stories they have are some of the best I've ever watched, read and experienced. They're written so well. One Piece alone has a lot of them within its story.

Fun fact: There's a spanish novel commonly known as Don Quijote which parodies the novels of knight's adventures that were really popular back then (centuries XVI and XVII). It's actually the most famous spanish book ever. It talks about the "adventures" of a crazy man who calls himself Don Quijote and whose horse is called Rocinante.
When I first heard Cora's real name I spent several minutes laughing. Even now I can't take that name seriously, it's like Pica's voice.

One of the cutest things I've seen in the One Piece community is people shipping Rosinante and Belle-mere. They would've become the cutest protective marine couple, and Nami, Nojiko and Law as siblings are also super cute.
