I think we gotta give harstem some props for being able to go toe to toe with the best late game player in the world in a super late game and still coming close. All the while maintaining all of his sc2 content creation in his free time
If anything, Harstem has become an even better player because of his content, where he tries different and unusual tactics and he learns a lot of new things. It’s clearly visible by how his cheese account is now better than his main

nah he was completely floored by serral. like this is what you'd expect the 39th best player in the world against the top player in the world. the only fight that looked like it was going his way, the last one in game 1, only looked like that because serral recognized that it was essentially an all-in and purposely avoided fighting until he made a big enough army that could convincingly win (which is basically what you're supposed to do in an all-in anyway).
i think harstem recognized this too, which was why he pushed much more aggressively than his previous engagements. regardless, he never took control of the game at any point, which kinda sucks since i feel like he definitely had potential to do better in these games.
@@dankmemester1066 Actually Serral won 1st match because of mass economy advantage he built earlier. Take a look how many resources he had to spend to stay ingame. From 15:40 onwards Serral used his savings to keep up with Harstem who was dry on money at this point.
This is the only channel on TH-cam which has a 100% view rate for me. Always quality.

@@knightish Its the usual Zerg moment, he lost some useless ground units and instantly remax with 30+ corruptors and overwhelms protoss key air units. All he had to do was keep the broodlords alive to clean up anything protoss have left on the ground.
@@skychaos87 Yeah, this. He had a huge bank allowing him to remax instantly with the right units, while Harstem had no bank.

If Harstem made a vid about this match the title would be "Protoss player's crazy stalker all-in!!". Glad this channel doesn't clickbait like him.
When I think of Harstem I usually don't think of him As keeping up with serral. Is he a great player? Sure. Beating Serral good? Not so much. But that was an insane game one. Harstem showing he can punch above his weight class!
I think he's improved a lot over the last 6 months.
@un3kn3own0 If this was any indicator, I agree completely. I usually think of harstem as maybe like the 17-18th best european. Insanely good, but not serral caliber. But if he keeps this up....
You can see on Harstem's face after the first game what a toll it was to go late game with the Finnisher. What a match. Great performance from both players

To be precise: The lowko maneuver makes use of a parasitic bomb to kill the interceptors.

Serral so calculated in g1. Most high-level zergs play that attrition style well but rarely do they have that follow up so well tuned. It feels like the plan was always: sacrifice everything and hold at the natural
At 5:17 I thought that was a amazing fight for serral because the banes went past the archon wall and hit like half the protoss army with splash. Don't think it was a good fight for harstem at all.

Casters did a good job of making late game protoss vs zerg seem close, but c'mon...
it was very close, tbh harstem had multiple opportunities to win on timing, but he respected serral too much to commit
@@aLeeb9 it's true; probably the closest I've seen of this type of game. I'm just sick of protoss players going late game air against good zergs since it never works

I know Serral is the GOAT.. but Z is OP and toss is underpowered. The fact in late game ZvP you can lose your whole army then just remax on corrupters and F2 30 corrupters that spawn all at different bases and will instantly have a surround on spawn, plus fungal+parabomb... GL Protosses, your best chance to win is to swap races.
Harstem had a big bank and didnt build enough. Casters called out Harstem for not building enough stargates to support his army when he loses a big fight.
You say that as tho all of that was easy to set up. Like yeah, every zerg player just gets 4 free bases and constant injects and perfect rallies?! And complaining about how zerg can remax is like complaining how toss can proxy 4gate, or how terran can turtle. It's just a core part of the armies design.

Don't most Protoss players want to avoid the late game because of how difficult it is to win in sky wars? All of the late game army comps for Protoss are just so easily countered by the late game units from the other races. I figured that would be the main reason instead of it being boring.
