  • “While language models may help generate new ideas, they cannot attack the hard part of science, which is simulating the necessary physics,” says AI professor Anima Anandkumar. She explains how her team developed neural operators - AI trained on the finest details of the real world - to bridge this gap, sharing recent projects ranging from improved weather forecasting to cutting-edge medical device design that demonstrate the power of AI with universal physical understanding.

What a brilliant presentation by Anima Anandkumar! Her exploration of AI's role in transforming science and engineering, especially in applications like medical catheter design, is truly enlightening.

Just curious why can’t we run some simulations to verify before printing the design? I agree that AI can propose the designs but I think we should carefully simulate the process to a certain accuracy before printing it out? Especially for something expensive to build 🤔

Because we don't have models that are so big and powerful, they don't have all the data so they make mistakes. You can't simulated the full spectrum only if we'd have a general model that master the fundamental understanding of the real world pishics, this will require more data gathering and x fold the resources, we don't have this! ... Yet

Does neural operators achieve better performance than full 3D direct numerical simulations (DNSs) yet? I am curious to know (I have read the Pathak+ paper with much curiousity but wasn't able to obtain a definitive answer myself)

To find the Answer will require a huge computer.
I will begin designing it. It's name will be EARTH, said Deep Thought.
Sorry, I had to write that. Anima made such a good case for it. 😊

God loves you and cares for you so that this message reaches you. God is the one who created this large universe and controls it completely. The greatest loss a person loses in this life is that he lives without knowing God who created him and knowing the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the messengers, and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions. Great intelligence, before you believe in something or not, is to read it, study it, and understand it well, and after that you have the choice to believe in it or not to believe in it. I advise you to do this now, before you no longer have time to do so. Life is very short. It is just a test, just a passage to eternal life. Great advice to those who... Understands

Any level of intelligence does depend on inspirational thoughts. Experimentation is the process unto which wisdom can be achieved. Wisdom us understanding to its fullest extent, a culminating knowledge if it from past present & future. Then shared to others interested in knowing the Way of Things & Ideas.
