Any person who cries and enjoys "How to disappear completely" deserves all the love in the world ❤
Thank You :D
I second that ❣️
Agreed. I first heard a portion of the song when they made a documentary about themselves touring The Bends, and Thom would sound check with this song before it was fully written. I immediately had to teach myself how to play it. The song is incredible.
I think crying would be normal behavior. If you'd didn't cry and just sat in silence without any visible emotion. That. That person there. Hug them.
Thank you for your wonderful reaction. I'm a 50 year old man and Radiohead has been my favorite band since I first heard them. They still bring me to tears everytime.
Its my birthday. I’ve done all I can to escape everyone and have my moment alone. I listen to this in my darkest hours. This is all I want to do.
Glad you didn't dissappear
Thank you :D
Enjoyed watching your reaction. Radiohead might be THE emotional band. If you are moved by them, you are lucky to be able to hear the rest of their catalog for the first time. There's just a ton of beautiful songs
It's okay to cry.. absolutely nothing to be sorry about.. i do too.. often.. while listening to their music..:)
Thom Yorke said that this was one of his favorite songs. It is about him trying to deal with suddenly having to deal with stardom and being completely uncomfortable with it. Brilliant selection.
He said he called Michael Stype from REM to ask how he deals with it, to which he replied, I just imagine I have completely disappeared, and no one can see me ...
This is one of the most emotional song ever written. I love this song, it’s interpreted many ways but this song is so powerful
I cried with ya and I’ve heard this a thousand times!!
When Radiohead get all ethereal, it hits you in your soul.
This is why I love radiohead. No matter where you are in life they will have a song that speaks to you. This song in particular got me through some dark times. Please listen to more of their work. Subscribed and happy that you're now in a better place
Thank you :D
Radiohead saved my life. I got into them at the darkest moment of my life and their lyrics and unusual instrumental composition helped me get through a lot of stuff..
I'm pleased they helped you :D
Me too. Suicidal ND their music brought me back.
Please listen to more Radiohead! Beautiful band with beautiful songs :) I suggest; Exit music for a film, Jigsaw falling into place, Weird Fishes, and/or Paranoid Android.
By the way I loved the raw and honest reaction, you earned my sub.
Thank you :D
Or even hail to thief , it’s So underrated
2+2=5 my favorite on that album
@@samirar1990 scatterbrain, a punch up at the wedding
Nude is another great song
I sang/ played this song in my head to be able to endure an MRI, I’m claustrophobic. This song makes me float.😊
Great reaction to a great song. 👍 more radiohead plz
beautiful reaction. your soul is pure and beautiful. hugs
I would recommend No Surprises by them it’s a beautiful song, I’d describe it as a lullaby for adults
"No surprises" is also beautiful, absolutely.
Radiohead knows how to get down inside you and rip everything out. Many of us felt exactly like this song sounds. They are so amazingly beautiful and pure emotion. They have so many songs that will just invade you, enjoy the journey.
Describes me... completely. Thom Yorke's favorite composition. Thanks for doing it.
It’s okay to get emotional to this, it takes you somewhere, great reaction
bless you. loved the reaction
You should check out there In Rainbows album. Literally every song is good, but I'd recommend Nude, House of Cards, Jigsaw falling into place, weird fishes

We all looove love luv ya
Watching again cause I love this song and I wanna give you props! ❤🎉
Yes it gets me exactly like that every time I listen to it.
Hugely emotional. Tears every time.
I wish I could go back to hearing this for the first time again. And good work with giving an honest open reaction to it.
I usually despise reaction channels , because most of them employ "fake reactions". But what I've stumbled upon is perhaps , the most genuine emotional response I've ever seen ❤️. Have a great listen and a great day with Radiohead:)
Thank you Patches. I agree with you and I can't pretend I've never heard songs if I have. I knew Radiohead only for creep but they have truly blown me away.
Oh god! your accent is just gold!
Thank you :D
Beautiful reaction, thank you.
Your eye shadow is gorgeous 💜 I've got dark hair and dark eyes too but never tried this shade. I'm totally going shopping for purple sparkly eye shadow now - love it!
Awww thank you. Purple is my favourite colour :D Orange is another great colour for dark hair & eyes :D
Thom's voice gives us what we all feel. That emotion through the held tones is us. It's just... all of us.
Thanks for sharing, Lainie. I’ve been listening to this one for 22 years and it still brings a tear to my eye.
Beautiful reaction! Reminds me of when I first heard of this masterpiece years ago. I was going through a very bleak period after a nasty breakup in my early 20s and was depressed. Was very much able to connect with the music and for once felt understood, just through the sounds and lyrics. Thanks for being vulnerable enough to share your experience with us! I very much related with you.
It’s an amazing song - my first reaction was very similar, it uniquely captures anxiety and depression in their full toxicity.
Keep going with Radiohead they are very good at atmosphere and not all sad, though many are melancholy, but they fairly much cover everything
Try:
Daydreaming
Jigsaw falling into place
Pyramid Song
The Tourist
very appropriate reaction to this song hehe kudos to you
This song is so beautiful and haunting. It's definitely a favorite song. I love your makeup!
Thank you
Here's a fun (largely lost to history) fact that not many people seem to know about this song. Most people know Thom's lyrics were inspired by advice that Michael Stipe of REM gave him on overcoming stage fright. But the acoustic guitar shuffle that starts the song was inspired by a time on tour when their tour bus was traveling through the Rocky Mountains heading to a concert in Denver, Colorado and a pack of wild horses were trying to outrun a thunderstorm into some woods off the side of the interstate at sunset. It apparently hit Thom really hard because the horses were graceful to his eyes but chaotic and scared to themselves, and that's why he has horns come in later that are chaotic against the ramble. Then Michael's Stipe's advice (which he'd already heard) came to him as the lyrics of channeling grace and majesty through chaos. Thom mentioned this to the old magazine Magnet in the late 90's but it somehow never got well known, but the actual origin of How To Disappear began with Thom on a tour bus staring out a window at wild horses trying to outrun a storm into some trees in the Rockies.
What an amazing story. Thank you for sharing :D
Lots of love! I think this song is a lovely way of connecting with and reflecting on negative feelings and being able to recognise the power of internal kindness. I find it sobering but also uplifting in it's instructiveness and I think that's an incredible thing for any band to have achieved musically and lyrically in a five minute track!
Nice reaction Lainie and yes Radiohead cover many genres of music but i find their haunting melodic songs like this one quite emotional also, if u get a chance have a listen to "Codex" "Nude" or "Sail to the moon " just brilliant song writing
Thank you for this beautifully honest and open reaction. I wish you all the best.
I only listen to this song when I’m at my lowest of lows. Thank you for feeling this song for me.
Just listen Radiohead like a poem, It’s seems depressed but it’s angelic
really loved how you showed your emotions cause i feel like thats how they are trying to get their audience to feel. love your overall vibes. id love if you reacted to my new song and music video to see what you think! anyway keep up the amazing work!
I wish I could discover Radiohead all over again! Enjoy the journey
I really hope you come back with more reactions. ❤
Thank you. I will be back soon.
A band that always gives you the feels they are so great creating emotional landscapes for you to dwell in and to me they are one of the great artistic bands ever I liken them to the Beatles their spiritual successors if you will none of their albums sound alike.
Loved your honest and vulnerable reaction to one of my favorite songs of all time. Subbed. If you want to hear more emotionally powerful songs by them you should check out Exit Music (for a Film), Motion Picture Soundtrack, or the studio version of True Love Waits.
Thank you :D
Thank you so much for this reaction. I felt the same first I heard it.
Great reaction to a beautiful song. The fact that you have tuned in so well to these two Radiohead songs is a great reflection upon who you are - you clearly have a lovely soul. Continue to enjoy your journey with them. My personal recommendations would be 'House of Cards', 'Subterranean Homesick Alien', 'Airbag', 'Lucky', 'Talk Show Host' and 'Desert Island Disk'.
Thank you. I have added your suggestions to my list :D
I totally hear ya ... Its very easy to put ourselves down and be hard on ourselves, especially when others can be harsh... Long as we learn to love ourselves in the end up, everything else should fall into place .. :)
Love this song .. it can tug the heartstrings a bit .. shed a few tears meself .. Nice reaction ... God Bless ...
Very true. Thank you :D
Good stuff Lainie, this song makes me tear up too
I know the background of why Thom wrote this great song. For me the song connects to getting through all the stinking bad things that happen in life when its not through any fault of my own. There is hope, even when more things come along pushing you down. To keep battling with positive energy and things do come good in the end.
Understandable
Such a great band with such a great catalog and variety of songs and atmospheres, I really recommend listening to more of them, they are just TOO GOOD to be true.
I would recommend:
Daydreaming
True Love Waits
Glass Eyes
Last Flowers
Weird Fishes
Bulletproof... Wish I Was
And I'm glad you're not in the same place that this songs takes you to, it got me and stills get me trough this hard times, hope your ok!
What a beautiful review. This song is so raw. You should give "True Love Waits" a listen. ☮
Thank you I have it on my list :D
Excellent reaction to an emotional song. Personally in terms of songs I'd recommend 'The Daily Mail', 'Daydreaming', 'Glass Eyes' and 'True Love waits'. But honestly you can't go wrong with any Radiohead song.
Thank you. I have added the ones to my list I haven't already got listed :D
Lovely reaction, love Radiohead and have done for years. Glad you like them. Liked and Subscribed. Keep them coming! 👍
Congrats on hearing Radiohead! Try to hear Pyramid song!
You need to experience this in Kid A Mnesia: The Exhibition, a beautiful walk-thru game/experience, free for Mac, PC, and PS5-on Epic Games.
(And my reaction to this song remains equally intense after many years and thousands of listens!! Their best!)
Great reaction 😁
You'll really like Sigur Rós. Check out Staralfur or Hoppipolla. They're Icelandic, some of their songs are in Icelandic and some are just gibberish that they call Hopelandic.
Much of there music just kills me in the best way. Strangely giving permission to feel what I’ve been going through with illness over the past 26 years.
Lovely
This song is about the sudden worldwide fame the band received after the album The Bends came out. He had a hard time dealing with being famous and in the spotlight. While on tour, Michael Stipe of REM visited him and told him in a discussion, just repeat to yourself, "I'm not here, this isn't happening."
Pretty please do me a favor and yourself a favor and react to the music video for the song I promise by Radiohead. It doesn't have quite as many views as some of their other music as it was released only recently. It was a song that they didn't originally keep on the album and so it wasn't recorded until it was released a few years ago. Radiohead, and especially this song, helped me get through a lot when I was going through a rough time in life. I believe you will be able to feel what I feel when I hear that song. As always best wishes to you and thank you for sharing your kind spirit with those of us lucky enough to come across your videos.
Highly recommend you listen to Motion Picture Soundtrack and / or No Surprises, some of radioheads saddest songs especially if you listen to the lyrics :)
Thank you Rob. I will add them to my list :D
Listen to Radiohead’s “Spectre”!! Less heavy. Actually scary in it’s lyrics but lovely still
Please do more Radiohead reactions! Paranoid Android, weird fishes, nude. Just a few
Other good emotional songs are: "Videotape" and "Last flowers"
Codex too is emotional x
I reacted to Codex, here is the link if you wish to see it. th-cam.com/video/gD6APqn1Qso/w-d-xo.html
Seasons Greetings Laine just a subtle reminder for you to kindly do a reaction to Taylor Dayne - I'll Be Your Shelter - Live

Absolutely nothing to be sorry about!. I was overwhelmed too the fist time listening to this song.
💙
You are listening to Art
Hi Lainie. I never really followed Radiohead. I'll grant that This song is haunting, and it has an emotional context, but obviously I don't have the connection that you have. So... It's not really my "cup of tea", but I enjoyed hearing it at least once. Thank you.
Your supposed to listen not talk.im done with your channel
You clearly don't understand the concept of reacting.
@@LainieReacts you listen then comment we are done
Nope
Of all channels I have seen, her pausing this was NOT an issue. Having a real experience doesn’t always fit tidily in a video. I think this was great!
