I've never heard of Tory Lanz before this album. That being said, I'm 45-years, a husband and father of 5. This album happend to find it's way on my Spotify algorithm and I'm having serious flashbacks to the 80’s. I enjoy this album...a lot.👍🏼👍🏼

Tory goes further than rap, he may not be the best rapper, but definitely the best artist (along with Anderson Paak.) out of the rap industry

Not sure if anyone else picked up on the flow style he uses for Pluto’s Last Comet. Very very similar to Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. Really clever way to show respect to the classic sounds he’s trying to re-make. Unreal album. Pink Dolphin Sunset my favourite

I heard countless times that Tory bit off Weeknd with his style(which really isn't true cause Dua Lipa kinda started it first). But anywho, the album is flames🔥

Tory continues to be underrated as an artist, so many bangers in his discography and versatility and this album I thought was gonna be a miss, but all songs just slapped. Mostly no features, just him alone, he’s way too good that’s why he’s top 10 of my favorite artists right now.

@@tremell7559 most of the mixtapes can’t be found on Spotify or any streaming services cause he’s using lots of samples that haven’t been cleared.
I think we should all appreciate the influence that The Weeknd and even Dua lipa are making. They are definitely the pioneers for bringing back 80s sounding music. And Tory being supportive of Abel and being from Canada too I think he was definitely influenced by after hours to make this album.

Bruno Mars started the trend again with 24k Magic in 2016..... then Weeknd dropped Starboy in November of 2016 but that wasn't 80's music, he didn't start until he dropped After Hours in 2020 since then Silk Sonic and Weeknd been going back and forth on the 80s trend and talented Tory said let me jump in this......

I've been listening to Chris Brown,Bruno Mars and The Weeknd for years!!! I guess that's why spotify recomended me this album. I was working and I was listening to The Weeknd and out of nowhere "The color violet" started playing. This album will stick my memory for ever
This is one of my favorite albums I've ever heard. The vibes are unmatchable. The trumpets or whatever instrument is at the end of the color violet is the greatest thing I've ever heard. Love the Reaction!

Dastar. And this and then playboy in 3rd. And yes i know playboy might be the best R&B album to Grace the year. That being said this project by comparison stumps. Because he gave himself the most handicaps for this album and he still made non skip tracklist with this one. Whereas Playboy had great music all over it but I don't think I play the whole album through without skipping one or two but that's just preference

most underrated artist ive ever seen, his pop, and rap career. a true magician when it comes to music.
A lot of people are comparing this to After Hours but I feel like the only similarity is the 80s call back. Alone at prom is so much more pop than after hours and has a more vaporwave sound rather than the synthpop in After Hours. Also the way tory and abel mix their vocals is completely different.

i'm a huge Tory fan and this album exceeded expectations
I just found about this album, and specifically this song. My god, why did this go under my radar for so long.
My homie put me on to the color violent, ended up listening to the whole tape and is currently my favorite album. My first full Tory project I listened to and was not disappointed
My top 3 favorites from the album is the color violet, 87 stingray, and rather lady of namek or lavender sunflower. This whole album was a 10/10 and I love every song. This album was an absolute banger. Tory nailed it with this album.

To answer your question about how it seems so easy for tory is bc he is a studio rat and clearly a lover of music and melody.
If you search tory lanez in studio you'll find countless vids of dude on Live streams while recording punching line 4 line, asking the viewers for topics/song names. Dude really lives and breaths music. Like if the case goes his way im 1000% sure he already has an album to release soon after if not the night of.
Facts Tory even said in an interview he has already 10+ albums ready if god forbid he ever passes, that plus the fact he lives in the studio shows you how much heat he has available at any time
