    Thank you for the fork adjustment clarification! Was so confused reading the manual and looking under the seat:D Left for loose and right for tight as it should be!

    RE your suspension. My 2020 690 suspension was also terribly rough when brand new just jarring the first time I took it up rough fire road So following your solution I had set it to comfort settings all around. After close to 1000 miles I did adjust a little more damping into some of the adjusters ....but had some head shake that concerned me enough to revisit suspension settings and ultimately decided to go back to the OEM "standard" settings ....guess what? On exact same terrain that was so jarring when bike was new? Now? It is totally fine and seems to be working better than the "comfort" settings....I recommend you try going back to standard settings ...at least to see....I am thinking there is a break in period on some of these bike's suspensions....which does not really make sense....or maybe it does IDK...all I know is it was terrible on standard settings when new but now? It is great! YMMV

    subscriber jadoune340 told me about an error in the manual concerning fork damping settings, so I corrected the video accordingly, and reloaded the video, deleting the 1st one.

    I got mine ordered with the KTM lowering kit, just to make things easier but I guess you want all the travel.

    I know the kickstand issue, but I've just ridden my CRF 250 with a seriously flimsy stand. Felt so poor by comparison to the KTM one...

    I added the a Seat Concepts to my 2018 690 which does not have the settings sticker. I wish Seat Concepts would offer that label or maybe someone knows how to get one without costing a fortune. I took a photo for keeping on my phone for now. Thank you for the videos. I really like the intro music for your channel.

      thank you! make a printout of the photo of the label on gummed label stock. I did that on my 2015. I also used a Brother label maker to list the performance settings.

    reworking the suspension will do wonders. I'm surprised you haven't done that yet especially with the added weight of your pup. Stock springs in the forks are usually good for a 180lbs rider. I just had my stock WP reworked and it was a night and day difference.

    • @nigelwolfe6150
      @nigelwolfe6150 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What would that have to do with the harshness on small bumps? A stiffer spring I assume would make it even worse??

    • @EastTexasADV
      @EastTexasADV 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nigelwolfe6150 I guess I didn't catch the part where your suspension you wanted it softer but yet you want it added weight of a dog so why don't you have somebody rework your suspension to make it softer. Or adjust your rebound and dampening yourself. WP suspension is generally on the harsher side depending on what model KTM or Husky you get. You want a nice plush ride buy a WR with the KYB stuff..

    Hi , a question about Nomad Nav. Tower if 2021 new dashboard fits on the Tower?

    • @telerover
      @telerover  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I would have to look at the 2021 display to see if they are physically different, as well as the side panels. Mike Schram, the owner of Nomad-ADV hasn't said if the 2020 kit works on the 2021 yet on his page. Maybe look at the OEM parts diagrams to detect any differences?

    2019 has apex forks, older ones don't. Could be a reason for the different click setup

    You can put your check valve on the bottom of the over flow hose, it will still let the air in and stop the fuel from leaking out.

    • @telerover
      @telerover  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It needs to get sucked back into the tank, I would think. got one of these coming in: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/free-flo-no-slop-gas-cap-vent-hose-p

    • @dansloss2566
      @dansloss2566 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does that make sense? It is an overflow - so fuel should be able to spill. You don’t want to build pressure in the tank, which happens in the 1190.

    • @rokonron
      @rokonron 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dansloss2566 I have changed my thinking on the whole check valve thing. The check valve makes sense on a gravity feed system, let's air into the tank (vent) so fuel will flow into the carburetor while keeping the fuel from spilling out after a fall or tip over.
      Not really sure it's necessary on fuel injected systems. I have noticed the check valve will build pressure in the fuel tank when installed on fuel injected system, especially after a fill up. Any pressure generated by the fuel pump and pressure regulator is trapped inside the tank. I noticed this after installing a Rade Garage fuel tank under the seat, with check valves on both tanks the rear tank would build pressure and push fuel into the front tank and the front tank check valve would would seep out some fuel which was very noticeable, I'm sure this was happening with the rear tank, just not as noticeable.
      Anyway, no more check valves for me, both tanks are vented to atmosphere. If the fuel tank being pressurized was a good thing KTM engineers would not utilized an atmosphere vent I would think.

      Maybe a small skinny catch bottle instead? Keep fuel off boot and ground?

  • @paul.vanhout57

    I had Vanasche shorten my sidestand 1.5” - makes a big difference getting that stand raised and lowered.

    • @nigelwolfe6150
      @nigelwolfe6150 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      on the 2019+?? I cant imagine it being that short? Seems like bike would be falling over practically? is it this newest gen you speak of? I would like to shorten but I dont want to screw it up! Another thing I am thinking of is a little extesion peg welded on side stand to make it easy to find the side stand with my foot....I'm thinking to drill and tap a hole and screw in a long machine screw (allen cap) with a nut to lock it....then if is nice have it tack welded permanently

      @@nigelwolfe6150 - well I actually went back to the stock length as it did cause the bike to lean excessively and made it difficult to get on the bike. I like your idea on the extension.

  • @rokonron
    @rokonron 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    You might want to check the sag, a little reload may help the kickstand problem, or maybe a stiffer spring on the rear.

      I think I'll get a lowering link and cut the stand. I'm ready to go into cruising mode.

    Except after all that you NEVER did say if the suspension improved or not? lol wth?? Which I mean since the numbers were backwards and it made it worse until you realized manual was misprint but then after correcte no comment at ALL? Even when people asked you about it? Kinda frustrating since the harsh suspension on this model is what I am wanting to learn about...ya know?
