I read the book and couldn’t put it down. It’s not easy to fit a book into an hour and a half movie, but showing domestic abuse in a relationship is ESSENTIAL to the storyline. I’ve heard so many people in my life who have said “Why doesn’t she just leave?” or “That would NEVER happen to me.” I said it too, until it did happened to me. Once, just once, but I realized how easily things like that can occur when it’s someone you love. I never picked up on the signs, and I wish I could have seen a movie like this before it happened.

It’s the first book I ever read by Colleen Hoover and I read it in 13 to 14 days. It was hard, but I couldn’t put it down.
I really want Reminders of Him as a movie.

i have heard about this book but i didn't read it yet ,actually I'm not quite a fan of coleen hoover's books , but i've read one called " All your perfects and it was intensely emotional .
and based on the trailer it seems that ' Liy has suffered at the hands of her husband much like every female character in colleen's books !
For a while, every other book stall had only CoHo books and especially ‘It Ends With Us’.

The movie and the book itself paints the picture in a way people can understand
So like I think those people outside of the situation.. can understand because we fall in love with the cover, fall in love with someone and then understanding why he’s a bad person.. and yet we are still tricked into his delusions
Abuse is able to happen mentally, verbally and sexually that’s how I was abused.. never physically like beaten up or anything
I think they didn’t warn people with the book because they wanted you to be taken off guard by it just as much as the character was who was going through it. Just like most woman are when it happens the first time.
I remember not enjoying reading this book. I’m just not interested in gloomy and depressing stories, but maybe the movie will be better.
as someone who’s been through a lot of domestic abuse and still trying to navigate the ptsd that comes after I felt it was inspiring and has given me a lot of inspiration and strength ✨ I did cry but it felt healing in a way. I’ve just gotten back from the movies 🍿 it’s triggering but it’s healing ❤️🩹 maybe some others won’t have the same experience although I hope they do, that’s just my subjective perspective 🫶
I am not sure I could watch this. The subject matter disgusts me, I don't understand how people can be that way.
Definitely a tough subject but the movie in a way is bringing awareness to domestic abuse. It’s a double edge sword. If you’re someone that isn’t very comfortable with that subject then I’d suggest sitting this one out respectfully.
