Excellent. Sounds like Orion-SLS is progressing nicely.

I hope there will also be an upgrade of camera tracking system, adding full HD or even 4K cameras... This is not only great for us watching launches over the internet, but for engineers also, they would be able to see the rocket during ascent in great detail.

The good honest question is if this Asteroid is the same size of 65 Millions of years ago.

At 1:05, why do they still have a poster of Orion with the original SM design?

When will there be a launch date for the first Orion flight test??

Already is one! EFT-1 is scheduled for launch on December 4, 2014. It was originally scheduled for September, but there are quite a few commercial and scientific launches scheduled for the Cape in the fall, and Dec is the soonest they could get a break in traffic...NASA's even going to take the unprecedented move of launching a Mars mission (not sure if it's this year, though) from Vandenberg b/c the flight schedule from the Cape is so full!

Why dont you have an astronaut turn around and snap a quick picture of earth?

If I could do anything, I'd love to work with theories, planning, and simulations. But realistically they'd probably want some sort of degree that I couldn't possibly get because of my particular socioeconomic circumstances. The only thing I've got is a background in the medical field, computers, and thinking a whole bunch.

Here's what I would do. Modified Mars Direct (Zubrin). All using existing off the shelf rockets (competitive bid on commercial launch services). First send a robotic device there (possibly this should be a couple different launches, since it would be designed to carry the humans back home), to manufacture fuel for the return trip. Verify that all the fuel has been made. Then send up a capsule to LEO, no humans in it. Next launch, a Earth Departure Stage. Next Launch, inflatable hab (bigelow?). Next launch, fuel module. Final launch, the crew. Then send it to Mars. They stay there for a while, exploring, and setting things up for private sector colonists to potentially come and hook up to NASA's base. Then they launch back to Earth using the Earth Return Vehicle that went there in step 1.

    Why not use Soyuz?

Cool video. I want one of those silver domes on my remote property. Would be a cool house.

Well, after seeing the capsule roll over as it hit the ground, I understand why NASA is reluctant to land it on the ground with astronauts inside!!
